Events / Inauguration FNO - KDCA
« on: December 31, 2016, 10:16:53 AM »

Join the controllers of the Virtual Washington ARTCC as we host VATUSA's Friday Night Operations on a very rare occurrence. We'll be hosting an aviation ball as the wheel of democracy turns and the inauguration of the 45th president of the United States takes place in coincidence with a Friday. With his induction into office, the president will be trading one notable aircraft in the aviation community, N757AF, out for another: Air Force One. The inauguration will bring a boost in passengers to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area and so vZDC will be featuring KDCA Washington National Airport however flights into Joint Base Andrews (KADW, military and foreign dignitaries), Washington-Dulles (KIAD), or KBWI (Baltimore-Washington International) are welcome in order to fit your flight schedule and host international flights. We hope you'll join us for this rare chance to fly into KDCA in the full rush of FNO or experience the business of the restrictive and claustrophobic Potomac TRACON airspace at one of our other airports.

Pilots into KDCA should plan extra fuel and possible diversions to KIAD or KBWI.

The celebration starts at 23:59Z and ends at 04:00Z.
