Any plans for joint event with Miami? A lot of the guys in our roster will be there in person, including me.

Nice time lapse. We seemed to have dodged that bullet in our event August 25th. It's amazing how badly missing the final approach can cause all sorts of havoc.

On these events it's very important to pay attention to altitude, speed and heading changes. There's very little speaking time available to approach controller, so every second counts. No time for "can you say again?"...

Well done!  Great video.  Gave me the idea of highlighting aircraft after the handoff to the tower. (Useful)
A handful of places do this in the real world. In the Miami ATCT, they highlight aircraft once they've been cleared to land and in the TRACON, they highlight aircraft once they've been switched to tower.

This.

Registration is now open for those looking to attend in person. If you are not a local/visitor controller at ZMA, send me an email at [email protected]
Can we get some more information on what is going on?  Location, cost, is this just on the 25th or is there more going on?  Hard to commit without having some information besides it's in Florida.  It is in Florida, right?

Ira, you can find all the info you need here: http://www.zmaartcc.net/wp/events/miami-live-2018 (Must be signed in to see)

The live portion of the event is in Tampa, Florida. The specific address will be sent via email to those who signed up since it's a residence and we don't want that out there publicly. I'm working to get some more activities for the morning of the event, but as of now I have nothing confirmed, hence no information being posted on the Miami Live page or our forums.

As you can see on the Miami Live page, there is no cost associated to this event. If you wish to donate something towards food and other expenses, you can do so there. I hope I have answered all your questions.

Nice banner, unfortunately FSExpo is that weekend, so won't be able to fly this.

It's web based, and something that has to be built from the ground up every time it gets adapted for a new facility.
My post was an attempt at humor...trying to mimic the hundreds of people on the VATSIM forum regarding software like Swift and such.

And I'm here, sitting, waiting for a share...lol

And if you want to talk sub-enroute airspace, those boundaries are not documented anywhere for a pilot, so expecting them to know where your approach airspace starts is an unrealistic expectation.

They can estimate airspace entry on VATSpy or VATTASTIC.

Who has a TRACON facility that's a perfect circle and anywhere near the VATSpy diameter?

Will change on Vattastic V2, but for now, there's nothing out there that specifies sectors to pilots.

General Discussion / Re: Keep Port Open
« on: April 25, 2018, 01:18:28 PM »
No. Operating systems don't allow two applications to bind to the same UDP port.
A solution idea - some lightweight software which would mute your mic input to vSTARS/vERAM/VRC and press your push to talk every 30 seconds or so. When you manually press your PTT, it works normally.

Easier solution is the port forward.  What you're asking for is a rather convoluted solution that adds several new risks and failure modes.

But he cannot do a port forward due to the internet he is using, that's why he is looking for an alternative.
