We will have Houston Intercontinental (KIAH) all staffed up for this fun night of holiday cheer from 2300z-0300z. What's a holiday event without a fun theme? Fly in with your most unique holiday callsign! Some examples may be RDN1- (RedNose) or FST1234 (Frosty). See you out there for a night full of holiday spirit!

Join the Houston ARTCC as we staff up for the incoming rush of pilot for the start of the 2016-2017 football season in Houston! The Houston Texans will be battling for greatness at home against the Chicago Bears. We will be staffing from 0000z-0400z (1900-2300 central time). Houston Hobby (KHOU), and Houston Intercontinental (KIAH) will be staffed for this fun evening. VFR, IFR, GA, commercial, rotary, we'll take it all! When calling up a controller for the first time, make sure to let them know your favorite NFL team.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to declare an emergency mid flight? What would you need to say to the controller, or what checklist would you need to go through? Well you're in luck! Join the Houston ARTCC as we present 'Emergency Madness: Houston!' This will be a night full of interesting controlling. If you message ZHU_EVT the night of the event and advise him that you would be ok with declaring an emergency, you will be put in the pool to possibly get a message with what emergency we would like you to perform. Our controllers will not decline your emergency, and we will treat it as they would in real world! This event will be taking place from 2000z-2300z.

Join the Houston ARTCC as we staff up the San Antonio International Airport (KSAT) in support for our nation's men and women over seas. Fly in for the annual Armed Forces River Parade on the San Antonio Riverwalk from 1900z-2200z. Bring your GA aircraft, commercial, or your helicopters. We'll take it all!

Thanks for your eagerness to control in the Houston ARTCC Overload! The SSO is still down. We're currently working with VATSIM to get that sorted out as quickly as we possibly can. If you are a returning member, feel free to head over to the login portion and click "Forgot Password". You can still log in with a generated password by the website. If you are a new controller wanting to control, you can still register! On the home page, click on the "Register to Control" button, and go through the registration process. All of this will be functional with the VATSIM SSO later on, so feel free to signup now and look around.

Everyone who signed up for a spot for the previous go at this still has their old position. I will address this part in an email to all of you shortly.
