Purpose:
Washington ARTCC is looking for a motivated individual who possesses a high degree of energy and commitment to serve as the Events Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities:
- Reports to and serves at the pleasure of the DATM.
- Maintains an online presence within the facility and on the VATSIM network.
- Manages a team of highly qualified individuals as part of the Events Team.
- Functions as an ARTCC junior staff member and attends meetings as necessary.
- Identifies and develops events to generate traffic and promote the ARTCCs.
- Develop and distribute marketing materials to promote ARTCC events.
- Implements and oversees approved events.
- Acts as CIC during ARTCC events when able, or designates a replacement on their behalf.
- Coordinates with neighboring ARTCCs to arrange support for local events.
- Coordinates with neighboring ARTCCs to provide vZDC support.
- Maintains relationships with VAs and coordinates support for VA events.

Requirements:
- Must hold at least an TWR Controller (S2) rating (APP S3/C1 rating is preferred).
- Must be an active member of the VATSIM network in good standing.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must be able to work in a team environment and manage a team.

Preferred Skills:
- Leadership, managerial, or supervisory experience (real world or VATSIM applicable).
- Familiarity with Washington ARTCC policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate the qualities of understanding, patience, restraint, and professionalism.

Applications are now being accepted for the position of Deputy Air Traffic Manager (DATM) in the Washington ARTCC (ZDC).

Reports To: ZDC Air Traffic Manager
Application Deadline: May 12, 2023 23:59z


Responsibilities:
- Reports to the ATM and fulfills ATM responsibilities in the ATM’s absence.
- Maintains an online presence within the facility/community and on the VATSIM network.
- Acts as a senior staff member, leading and supporting ARTCC members.
- Attends staff meetings and public town halls regularly.
- Ensures that members comply with ZDC, VATUSA, and VATSIM policies.
- Functions as a senior staff member to assist in conflict resolution matters.
- Assists in development of ARTCC SOPs, LOAs, policies, and other resources.
- Assists in management of ATC roster, permissions, and access.
- Assists in management and guidance of ARTCC staff and their subsequent departments.
- Assist in the assumption of a role of an ARTCC staff in their absence and act as a member of the interview committee during the staff application process.
- Any other duty assigned by the ATM.

Requirements:
- Hold a Controller (C1) rating or above at the time of selection.
- Able to fulfill ZDC activity requirements
- Member of ZDC, or willing to transfer upon selection.
- Have no history of unprofessional behavior nor significant disciplinary record.
- Ability to work in a team-based environment.

Desired Qualifications:
- Possess a high degree of commitment, motivation, and attention to detail.
- Demonstrates qualities of understanding, patience, and maturity.
- Previously held a mentor and/or instructor role in a VATUSA facility.
- Previously held a leadership/staff role in a VATUSA facility.
- Have a good working knowledge of ZDC and neighboring facility airspace.

Interested candidates should understand the requirements of the position and the time commitment aspect associated with the undertaking of a senior staff role within the facility. All qualified candidates can expect an initial evaluation of their application after which they MAY be contacted for a comprehensive interview.

Join me in congratulating our very own Ethan Hawes as he begins his tenure as our new Training Administrator.  Ethan brings a wealth of real-world knowledge and experience to the job.  He has big plans for our department, and I am excited to see where we are headed.

Position Positing - ZFW Training Administrator

Purpose:

The Fort Worth ARTCC (ZFW) is seeking a qualified, professional and motivated individual to fulfil
the role of Training Administrator (TA).

Key Responsibilities

- Oversees, develops and Manages the ZFW training program
- Reports to the ZFW Air Traffic Manager (ATM) and VATUSA Training Director (VATUSA3)
- Hires facility instructors and mentors in consultation with the ZFW ATM and DATM
- Develops scenario files using Situation Editor for usage in Tower Trainer
- Administer Over-the-Shoulder (OTS) Examinations on Sweatbox or the live VATSIM network
- Train and evaluate members of varying skill levels and controller rating
- Develop ZFW training policies
- Other duties as assigned by the ZFW ATM or DATM, or VATUSA3

Requirements

A successful candidate must:
- Hold at least a C1 rating
- Have held a rating of I1 for at least 30 days at any given time prior to hiring date
- Have previous training experience
- Have no disciplinary or unprofessional conduct in the last twelve months
- Be capable of working well in a team-oriented environment
- Have a strong knowledge of the United States Airspace and Air Traffic Control systems
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Have the ability to create professional looking documents using Word or similar software
- Have membership as a home controller or visiting controller in ZFW (Must be certified through center)

Preferred Skills:

A successful candidate should have:
- Instructor/Mentor experience
- Previous or current ARTCC Senior Staff experience
- Supervisory, trainer, or management experience in virtual or real world
- Knowledge of Aircraft Situation Editor; will train if never utilized
- Joy in teaching and helping others develop relevant skills through their virtual ATC career

Position Posting – ZFW Webmaster

Purpose

The Fort Worth Facility is currently seeking a Webmaster who will provide effective management and leadership of the ARTCC's data services, including but not limited to web content development and delivery, web services, email systems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Report to ZFW Air Traffic Manager
- Develops, Manages and oversees ZFW Teamspeak, Web Services, IAPs, E-mail and Voice Server, etc;
- Must respond reasonably quickly to web site and data systems needs, via email or phone call
- Develops and implements policies and procedures for operation/maintenance of the ARTCC new web and data systems
- Other duties as assigned by the ATM
- Functions as a staff member, and attends meetings as needed


Requirements:

- Must be an active member of the VATSIM network in good standing
- With no history of unethical practices or misuse of technology
- Must be a S-3 or above
- An active member of ZFW or willing to transfer to ZFW if selected
- Capable of working well in team-oriented environment
- Must be proficient with modern web programming languages and techniques
- Must be proficient with PHP Object Oriented Programming, HTML, PHP/MySQL, CSS
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Skills:

- Demonstrated custom web programming skills and expertise
- Working knowledge of PHP, javascript, HTML, and CSS
- Familiarity with APIs for other applications (Google, Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
- Leadership, managerial, or supervisory experience

News / Fort Worth Has a New DATM!!!!

I would like to announce the selection of Cameron Bristol as the next Deputy Air Traffic Manager of Fort Worth. Cameron currently serves as TA and has previously served in other staff roles in both ZFW and ZHU. We expect great things from Cameron as he works with the rest of our Staff and look forward to seeing him succeed in his new role.

Congrats and best of luck, Cameron!

Fort Worth Is Looking For a New Events Coordinator:


Duties

- The EC reports to the Air Traffic Manager
- The Events Coordinator is responsible, mainly, for the positive promotion of the ZFW Facility through planning, coordination and execution of events
- Attends periodic meetings as necessary
- Maintains an active online presence within the ZFW ARTCC and on the VATSIM network
- Produces quality events using unique and creative ideas
- Ensures event plans/activity to satisfy the ATM’s strategic goals
- Coordinates with virtual airlines, pilot organizations, other ARTCC staff and ZFW controllers to ensure maximum event participation
- Coordinate with other ARTCC staff to provide ZFW support for neighboring events
- Develops and distributes marketing material to promote events and the ARTCC through all appropriate venues
- Develops event briefings and staffing assignments
- Assumes the duties of CIC when assigned, directing staffing and breaks accordingly
- Manages and processes scheduling requests
- Frequently checks and responds to emails and contacts in a timely manner
- Other duties as assigned or required by the ATM


Requirements

A successful candidate must:

- Be a member in good standing
- Be a member of the ZFW ARTCC, or willing to transfer upon selection
- Hold a VATSIM Senior Student Controller (S3) rating or higher
- Be skilled with graphic editing software such as Photoshop, etc.
- Maintain active status by logging minimum number of hours in accordance with ARTCC policy
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
- Be able to work well in a team-oriented environment


Preferred Skills & Abilities

A successful candidate should:

- Possess a high degree of commitment and motivation
- Make every attempt to attend each scheduled event

Priority is given to candidates who:

- Possess experience and certification within the ZFW ARTCC
- Have previous Event Coordinator experience
- Have previous staff experience in a VATSIM ATC facility, or virtual airline


What to Expect

This is an entry-level position.

The workload is moderate, especially heavy right before and during events.  All applications will go through an initial evaluation.  Candidates who pass the evaluation will be contacted for a comprehensive interview.  All candidates will be notified if/when a selection is made.
