Thank you Don for all you have done for our Division. You always brought the fun, wherever you went. You always had an easy way of keeping "stuff" in perspective. Realizing the point of why we do this.

I still remember the time I was an S2 and you flew into one of our FNO's.  I kept thinking don't forget this or don't forget that, big "boss" is arriving. LoL. Basically don't F it up!!

You called up and made me laugh out loud on frequency......and kept making me laugh all the way to hand off to ground. That was the same spirit you brought to this hobby every day. So thank you for everything. You have EARNED your time sir. I wish you much luck in your future endeavors.

Join me in congratulating our very own Ethan Hawes as he begins his tenure as our new Training Administrator.  Ethan brings a wealth of real-world knowledge and experience to the job.  He has big plans for our department, and I am excited to see where we are headed.

Position Positing - ZFW Training Administrator

Purpose:

The Fort Worth ARTCC (ZFW) is seeking a qualified, professional and motivated individual to fulfil
the role of Training Administrator (TA).

Key Responsibilities

- Oversees, develops and Manages the ZFW training program
- Reports to the ZFW Air Traffic Manager (ATM) and VATUSA Training Director (VATUSA3)
- Hires facility instructors and mentors in consultation with the ZFW ATM and DATM
- Develops scenario files using Situation Editor for usage in Tower Trainer
- Administer Over-the-Shoulder (OTS) Examinations on Sweatbox or the live VATSIM network
- Train and evaluate members of varying skill levels and controller rating
- Develop ZFW training policies
- Other duties as assigned by the ZFW ATM or DATM, or VATUSA3

Requirements

A successful candidate must:
- Hold at least a C1 rating
- Have held a rating of I1 for at least 30 days at any given time prior to hiring date
- Have previous training experience
- Have no disciplinary or unprofessional conduct in the last twelve months
- Be capable of working well in a team-oriented environment
- Have a strong knowledge of the United States Airspace and Air Traffic Control systems
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Have the ability to create professional looking documents using Word or similar software
- Have membership as a home controller or visiting controller in ZFW (Must be certified through center)

Preferred Skills:

A successful candidate should have:
- Instructor/Mentor experience
- Previous or current ARTCC Senior Staff experience
- Supervisory, trainer, or management experience in virtual or real world
- Knowledge of Aircraft Situation Editor; will train if never utilized
- Joy in teaching and helping others develop relevant skills through their virtual ATC career

Position Posting – ZFW Webmaster

Purpose

The Fort Worth Facility is currently seeking a Webmaster who will provide effective management and leadership of the ARTCC's data services, including but not limited to web content development and delivery, web services, email systems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Report to ZFW Air Traffic Manager
- Develops, Manages and oversees ZFW Teamspeak, Web Services, IAPs, E-mail and Voice Server, etc;
- Must respond reasonably quickly to web site and data systems needs, via email or phone call
- Develops and implements policies and procedures for operation/maintenance of the ARTCC new web and data systems
- Other duties as assigned by the ATM
- Functions as a staff member, and attends meetings as needed


Requirements:

- Must be an active member of the VATSIM network in good standing
- With no history of unethical practices or misuse of technology
- Must be a S-3 or above
- An active member of ZFW or willing to transfer to ZFW if selected
- Capable of working well in team-oriented environment
- Must be proficient with modern web programming languages and techniques
- Must be proficient with PHP Object Oriented Programming, HTML, PHP/MySQL, CSS
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Skills:

- Demonstrated custom web programming skills and expertise
- Working knowledge of PHP, javascript, HTML, and CSS
- Familiarity with APIs for other applications (Google, Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
- Leadership, managerial, or supervisory experience

How to Apply:

Applicant must provide an introductory cover letter to the application package.  Additionally, a resume, address each of the point of requirements and preferred skills and any previous experience.  The letter of application should summarize the applicant's reason for desiring to become the ZFW Webmaster and a proposed concept & plan for the new website.
