Don and Bob Congratulations,  I am very pleased to see the two of you fill two very important roles.  I think combined as a team the two of you will take us to new heights.  It is awesome to hear that two great leaders are taking over the helm.  Good Luck and thank you for stepping up to the plate.

I can see both opinions.  My first reaction would be it is a training issue but not knowing all the particulars not sure if it is or is not.  My other comment would be I would imagine that it could also depend on the airport.  I personally do not think it is a good idea to pull somebody off of an arrival and give them direct to a fix especially without giving a reason or asking the pilot if they would like to do this.

Some very good comments.  I applaud ZLA for their program.  I think it is important for any ARTCC to have a customer service mentality.  New Pilots typically appreciate any help they can get.  Recently I was flying and a pilot asked about LAX OPS.  I explained in text that during the day regardless of the wind, that LAX typcially departs on the 24's and 25's as well as arrives and then after midnight switches over for noise abatement purposes.  Another pilot wanted to argue and I found some document after googling that showed that I was correct.  Regardless maybe the various ARTCC's should consider making a document available that outlines their operations.  I know that some already do; I further realize that many pilots would choose not to use these guidelines but so long as the effort is made, then at least an ARTCC can say that they went the extra mile towards good customer service.

ZME has a new DATM.  Congratulations are in order for Zach Hutcherson who has been appointed as the new DATM for ZME.   Zach brings a wealth of experience to ZME.  Zach was formerly a DATM at Honolulu and is also an Instructor at ZME.  Congratulations

Sadly, my former favorite aircraft as been replaced by the PMDG 747.  The reason being is because while I can connect to squawkbox normally, within two minutes of connecting it loses its Voice connection.

It still remains connected to the server however anything to due with Frequencies and ATC disappears.  The Controllers are still visible, however the frequency that is shown you have tuned in (Bottom Right Hand Corner) disappears, I cannot connect, text or voice, to any controller regardless of what frequency I tune.

Sometimes if its in a good mood, reconnecting and connecting will solve the issue only for a few more minutes though.

Does anyone else have this issue or know of a fix?

This is strange.  I personally am not a big fan of squawkbox and have experienced far less issues with FSInn.  My recommendation would be to switch to FSInn.
