Bridgetown, Barbados – FlyOasis (OAS) announced today that it will commence operations from Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston Jamaica to a number of destinations including Gatwick, Toronto, Miami and New York as of April 01, 2010.
Norman Manley International Airport (IATA: KIN, ICAO: MKJP), formerly Palisadoes Airport, is an airport serving Kingston in Jamaica. It was named in honour of Norman Washington Manley. There are over 130 international flights a week that depart from Norman Manley International Airport. The airport is located on the Palisadoes tombolo in outer Kingston Harbour; it fronts the city on one side and the Caribbean Sea on the other.
The airline will serve Norman Manley with daily flights from Piarco, Trinidad and Bridgetown Barbados with onwards connections, utilizing its modern and efficient fleet of Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
In recent talk with vInternational Lease Finance Corporation (IFLC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of vAmerican international Group, Inc. FlyOasis announced the lease agreement of two (2) used Boeing 737-800 aircraft, powered by CFM56-7B27 engines and will join the fleet as early as April 01, 2010.
The agreement also included the placement of one (1) used Boeing 757-200ER aircraft powered by RB211-535E4 engines and one (1) used Boeing 767-300ER aircraft from ILFC. The aircraft is powered by CF6-80C2B6F engines. The lease term on these aircraft are 5 years.
This is FlyOasis’ first leasing agreement with ILFC and was pertinent to the launch of its new operations.
ILFC is the international market leader in the leasing and remarketing of advanced technology commercial jet aircraft to airlines around the world. ILFC owns a portfolio valued at more than $ 50 billion, consisting of more than 1,000 jet aircraft.
The airline also unveiled the company’s 3rd branding livery that the Boeing 757-200W will be the first to carry, followed by some of the Boeing 737-800 series aircraft. The new paint features a design rendered by Trevor de Verteuil. FlyOasis unveiled the livery Sunday Morning, with an artist's rendition of what the paint will look like on its new Boeing 757 aircraft.

The Air Bridge ConceptUtilizing two sourced and fully owned BN2 Islanders, FlyOasis will connect St. Maarten, the Eastern Caribbean’s leading gateway to its neighboring islands Saba, St. Barts and St. Eustatius; a sunrise to sunset operation.

FlyOasis also announced that the airline would begin new non-stop service between St. Maarten, Miami and New York aboard the airline’s leased Boeing 757 aircraft. Numerous changes have been made to the current operating schedule to accommodate the new service and planned expansion into new and current markets.
St. Lucia Jazz FestivalIn celebration of the 19th annual St. Lucia Jazz Festival, FlyOasis revealed a brightly colored promo livery on one of its Bombardier Dash 8 Q300 aircraft. The aircraft that was painted is registered as 8P-GND and is the airline’s first special schemed aircraft.
