Chicago ARTCC is seeking a qualified Facility Engineer to help manage and create facility files (.pof, .sct2, .txt etc.), and write documentation. Applicants must hold an S2. Experience in Facility Engineering is encouraged and preferred but not required.

Interested applicants must submit the following to the DATM at [email protected].

- Letter of Interest
- List of previous experience, if any
- Brief description of qualifications
- Ideas you can bring to ZAU

Job Description:

- Reports directly to the Deputy Air Traffic Manager.
- Maintains and updates vZAU sector files, SOP’s, and LOA’s upon direction/approval of the Deputy Air Traffic Manager
- Works with VATUSA and other ARTCC’s to approve LOA’s and SOP’s on behalf of the Deputy Air Traffic Manager once the LOA/SOP has been approved by the DATM.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Must hold an S2 Rating, but C1 rating is preferred
- Candidate must be in good standing with ZAU ARTCC / Current Home ARTCC and VATSIM/VATUSA.
- Ability to create and/or modify VRC sector files, vSTARS, vERAM and vATIS files
- Must have knowledge of obtaining resource materials to produce Sector, POF, and Alias files.
- Ability to write standard operating procedures and other documents as required.
- Energy and commitment to the facility and position

Desired Qualifications:

- Ability to create Tower Trainer/ Euroscope files for training purposes
- Experience as an ARTCC Staff Member
- Basic coding knowledge
- C1 rating

Jason has previous FE experience from ZHU and EC experience from HCF. His motivation to continue the duties asked of an EC will serve him well in Chicago, creating events to connect us to the rest of the country and the world. Welcome aboard!

Bring whatever soothes your taste, and we will work you in! This week we feature KDEN, or Denver International Airport. We will be staffed to the brim with ATC from 22:00z to 01:00z on Sept. 5th.
