Title: FS2020 C172 Garmin 530 NOT showing VOR Data
Post by: Eric Hebert on August 23, 2020, 06:02:48 PM
So in the gas gauge C172 default deluxe edition aircraft for FS2020, the Garmin 530 does not show the VOR data. The CDI has the signal, but the text for ID, TRK and DIST is not shown on the screen. I love this plane but without DME I cannot work on the P2 in this aircraft. (DME ARC). Am I crazy and missing a setting? Or is this feature INOP?

I would say that it is INOP, as with pretty much everything in FS2020. I don't have it myself, so I wouldn't know.

You can utilize an IFR approved GPS in lieu of DME equipment. Dial in the VOR you’re trying to arc off of, use the distance readout, and go forth.

Reference AC 90-108 and this nice (albeit old, because these rules changed in 1998) article from AOPA about it.
