The Oakland ARTCC is proud to present its experimental event series, Late Night at ZOA. Each week, we will be staffing a series of airports during the time when most people on the East Coast have already gotten in bed. Unlike most weekly staff-ups, this weekly event will occur on a different day (almost) every week.

On Thursday, January 25, 2024 7:00 PM PT (Jan. 26, 0300z), ZOA will staff SJC, FAT, and APC until January 25, 2024 10PM PT (Jan. 26, 0600z)

Late Night at ZOA will occur on the first Monday, second Tuesday, third Wednesday, fourth Thursday, and (sometimes) fifth Monday of every month for the foreseeable future. Come join us for some late night shenanigans.

Come one come all, ZOA's been here VATUSA is in need of some SUPER events.  Well we've got one for you, "Honey...where's my super suit"  You'll be needing yours, flying high in the sky right alongside superheroes. We've sent an SOS for superheroes to meet at NCT (Northern California Tracon).  Our Supers will be covering the borders from SMF, to MRY to MOD to SFO, an airspace, filled with enormous challenges, whether it be flying 750 feet apart from traffing into SMF, cruising the Santa Cruz Mountains, dodging MVAs, into a left downwind at SJC, or maybe military is more you're thing with T38 practicing overheads at BAB and SMF. There's tons of airspace near MER, where you have the open landscape to yourself, perfect for some VFR flying.  We can't wait to see out great TRACON, house some of the greatest supers the VATSIM network has to offer. Cya there!!

HO! HO! HO! Happy Holidays from ZOA! Come celebrate with us in the best way possible, fly in or out of SFO in one of our most complex and rare configurations, 10/10.  Test your skills as a pilot flying in on approach fighting the updrafts from the San Bruno Mountains as you touch down, shooting tight gaps in the final, and flipping NorCals airspace upside down. This configuration happens less than 5% of the year and last year this configuration landed 1 plane in one of the busiest hours of the day, so this is no small feat. Hope to see you there for the biggest challenge of the year

The target arrival time is between 6 - 7 PM PDT, but OAK will be staffed starting at 5 PM PDT until 8 PM PDT.

Calling all pilots and controllers alike, join us on this evening on a scary holloween night. We invite you to fly all planes big and small, but watch out you might be tricked and not land at all. File your flight to OAK if you wish, but be warned you may get vectored off to another airport at the controllers' bliss. We encourage you to fly your 73 and 74 alike, as O27, which has a 3000 foot runway that might bring a haunted end to your night. Enjoy this fun evening that is sure to fright, hopefully your plane survives this holloween night.
