Welcome to the Cleveland Friday Night Ops! We are proud to host the FNO event again, for the first time this year. All pilots - remember that you are always welcome to fly and we will be more than happy to provide you with the ATC services. To make your event more enjoyable and to avoid any unwanted surprises, let's go through some important information for you, pilots:

1. We are planning to have 3 en-route, 5 TRACON and 3 cab controllers. Center will be split between West, East and South sectors (CLE_W_CTR, CLE_E_CTR, CLE_S_CTR). If you are planning to depart from the other fields than Cleveland-Hopkins (CLE) during the event, let me give you some examples which controller you should contact:
- KDTW (Detroit-Metro) and Detroit area airports: CLE_W_CTR
- KPIT (Pittsburgh) and Pittsburgh area airports: CLE_S_CTR
- KBUF (Buffalo), KIAG (Niagara Falls) and Buffalo area airports: CLE_E_CTR
- Cleveland area airports: KBKL (Burke-Lakefront), KLNN (Lost Nation), KCGF (Cuyahoga County): CLE_DEP

2. Cleveland-Hopkins default scenery in FSX and P3D is not updated and it includes runway 6C/24C which was removed in 2006. After it was removed, it used to serve as taxiway C, however it got completely removed last year. Having this area in your flight sim is not a major issue (well after all it's better to have more surfaces than less), however we recommend you to update your scenery before flying. And of course, as always, check your charts!

3. Speaking of charts. Last year, Cleveland Airport introduced the new Metroplex procedures. For pilots it means that all old SIDs/STARs got removed and instead we have the new shiny RNAV SIDs/STARs (and this FNO exists to welcome them!). Therefore, updating your AIRAC cycle before flying and using the current charts while flying is absolutely crucial! If you don't have new charts and are unable to execute new RNAV procedures, please let us know in your flight plan remarks. It's not the end of the world. If you don't know which SID/STAR to use, look below.

4. Preferred routes (alphabetic order).
Arrivals coming from the south and from the east (TRYBE2, ROLLN1) can expect runway 24L for landing.
Arrivals coming from the north and from the west (BRWNZ1, ROKNN1) can expect runway 24R for landing.
This information is subject to change at any time - final call is the ATC call.

If we don't have a route from/to your airport, please check FlightAware/SkyVector/FAA Preferred Routes Database (https://www.fly.faa.gov/rmt/nfdc_preferred_routes_database.jsp)

Speaking about scenery. Since DTW airport experienced many significant changes since the time when default scenery for FSX/P3D was made (including construction of a completely new North Terminal and expansion of McNamara Terminal), we would like to encourage all the pilots without any new scenery to download an updated freeware version from AVSIM Library: https://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=kdtw+catherall&CatID=root&Go=Search. It works with FSX and all P3D versions. Thanks for your help!

Looking forward for the event, the day has come!  :D
