Join Cleveland ARTCC as we present Cleveland Real Ops, at 2200z-0200z (1800-2200 EDT) May 21st 2017, featuring Cleveland-Hopkins International (KCLE).

CLE opened in 1925 as the first municipal airport in the country. Today, almost 100 years afterwards, it is the 45th busiest airport in the nation serving 9 million passengers annually. Now it’s time to make it that busy on the VATSIM network also; Enjoy four hours of ATC as we staff up Cleveland-Hopkins Airport, to make it as real as possible!

Curious question:  Why the name "Real Ops"?  Will something be different as opposed to any other event?

Usually Real ops is done with booking of real world flights. At least in Europe.

The idea is to simulate real-world operations. I was trying to create bookings with real-world flights, but let's just say it didn't end up exactly as I wanted. Hope everyone who is going to fly in will enjoy it anyways. ::)

Got it.  I'm not sure we'll ever see quite enough traffic for real "real ops," and most folks fly something resembling a real-world flight anyhow.

Now perhaps if we could let VFR aircraft just do their thing without controllers blowing a gasket, we could start getting even closer  ;D
