Hello everyone! My name is Jacob Perez, I am the Events Coordinator for ZJX. As some of you might be aware we are hosting our first ever bid as an arrival field for CTP. We are a smaller ARTCC and we need help from everybody. With some encouragement from VATUSA 1 I wanted to extend an invitation to everyone in VATUSA to come have an opportunity to control what is the biggest VATSIM event of the year! We are in need of all positions from CTR to DEL and everything in-between! We could even use some people on standby. ZJX now retired EC is celebrating his birthday with an FNO down in good ole KMCO. We want this to be the party of the century so won't you join us on Friday, May 19th from 2230z - 0400z (1830Est - 0000Est) for what will be the best party ever. Be there or be square . KMCO will be fully staffed with the best controllers in the south, and you will have the opportunity to see the best beaches around and a chance to get sunburnt on final approach!

For most of us here in ZJX AUG26 is the last day for summer vacation and the last weekend before school starts again. While some of our college age staff *cough cough* will have already have started school they (we) promise to still be there to staff KMCO from 2000est-2400est to the max!

Does anybody else run into the problem on VRC when they go to give a handoff to somebody using vERAM that it always immediately refuses the H/O? Am I doing something wrong?

Orlando Live is Happening!! KMCO will be staffed to the hilt! ZJX now has confirmed 10 live controllers to be at our venue in Orlando, Fl. Not only that, but our controllers will be taking part in a FAA guided tour of KMCO's Tower and it's subsequent F11 TRACON room. Times are now final > 1800-0200EST (2200-0600Z). We intend to have two major shifts, 2200z-0200z and then 0200z-0600z so those on the west coast can be included . come for 8+ hours of the finest ATC that VATSIM has to offer, and stay for 10+ *gentlemen* yelling obscenities at each other for late hand-offs. I hope to see everybody there!

Christmas is over, everybody has their new yokes, new scenery's and planes
Santa has closed up his shop for the year and he is ready to take a well deserved vacation! He has chosen to come down to sunny Florida for some well deserved rest. In the recent celebration of the revival of the Star Wars franchise back in December. We here at ZJX want to keep the hype rolling. We would love for pilots to have themed call signs and enjoy a fun filled space themed night. We hope to see lots of pilots in the air to bring down the Empire

This weeks airport is Savannah International Airport (KSAV) Savannah is located in Georgia right on the boarder between Georgia and South Carolina in the North East part of the state.
