Job Title: Training Administrator
Location: Houston ARTCC and all ATC facilities within its area of control.

Houston is looking for a motivated individual that possesses a high degree of energy and commitment to serve as the Training Administrator.

Job Requirements:

•   Supports the Houston ARTCC’s mission of “Creating a Positive Environment to Learn, Control, and Fly”
•   Serves as a Leader to coach and motivate controllers while upholding a culture that builds exceptional internal and external pilot experiences
•   Oversees the quality of the training program
•   Perform multiple functions, including project management, instructional design, and instructional writing
•   Must post a minimum of 2 hours of training time per week
•   Must complete a minimum of 5 hours of controlling time per month
•   Assess learning needs accurately and propose creative and effective learning solutions
•   Initiate and manage throughout the lifecycle of the project, including initiating projects, creating project plans, executing all milestones and tasks, monitoring risk, and evaluating the success
•   Leverage a diverse set of skills and delivery approaches, including instructor-led, blended, experiential, media-based, performance support, and other emerging technologies
•   Organization design for Houston Training, inclusive of consulting to understand needs, building project roadmaps, and guiding/managing the org design process in partnership with ARTCC Partners to support ZHU goals
•   Supports and participates in initiatives that give back to the VATSIM community.
•   Supports the recruitment, retention, and development of a diverse range of talented people to fill the roles of Instructors and Mentors
•   Holds self and others accountable to high-performance standards while providing pilots with memorable experiences.
•   Ability to listen to feedback and take constructive action.
•   Maintains an online presence on the VATSIM server and ZHU TeamSpeak.
•   Attends periodic meetings to report on ARTCC activities.
•   Maintains, updates and manages training program, lessons, sweatbox scenarios, exam rubrics

Application Requirements:

•   Hold at least a C1 rating for at least 12 months
•   Have held a rating of I1 for at least 30 days at any given time before hiring date
•   Have previous training experience
•   Have no disciplinary or unprofessional conduct in the last twelve months
•   Can work well in a team-oriented environment
•   Have a strong knowledge of the United States Airspace and Air Traffic Control systems
•   Comprehensive understanding of the VATSIM Global Ratings Policy and how it applies to the development of a
 training program
•   Have excellent English written and oral communication skills

Preferred Skills

•   Supervisory, trainer, or management experience in the virtual or real world.
•   Previous or current ARTCC Senior Staff experience.
•   Instructor or Mentor experience on the network.
•   Real-World ATC or flying experience.
•   Prior VATSIM events coordination experience.
•   Facility Engineer experience (VRC, vSTARS, etc.).
•   Immensely enjoys teaching and helping others develop relevant skills through their virtual ATC career
