General Discussion / What ARTCC?
« on: December 16, 2015, 02:38:24 AM »
So i been looking at all ARTCC's website because i would like to join one. I am currently an S3 but have not controlled in years so will be starting from scratch. I, through my organization, keep hearing that some ARTCCs would rather not take any more controllers because how low on controllers they are. I would like to join an ARTCC who it not just looking at adding one more to their Roster but also be able to train a couple of times a month (hopefully more)

Is there any ARTCC out there who knows they are really active and soon enough i can be behind the scope?

Thx

General Discussion / VATFLY - must read
« on: October 22, 2013, 11:26:29 PM »
Hi guys

My names is Alex and I am the founder of the now retired VATFLY. Few months ago we had to close doors because of a malware planted in our servers now I am re opening doors to a new, stronger, modern ATO in VATSIM. With VATFLY we were stationed at KFLL for all our practice flight and acted as our main airport, with that we brought a great amount of traffic to that airport, programs like Fast Track were we selected an ARTCC an would gather as many pilot as we could to certify them all one day. With this new program I want to make it bigger and stronger but again, I want a brand new start.

Before we would select the ARTCC for our main station, I want to hear ideas of airport you think we should make our main station. Whoever we select from here I want to have a strong partnership, one that can be just good communication or in some forms help out each other (nothing complicated)

This is what we look for in the airport;
Class B or C airspace
A Flight Training area designated by the ARTCC or assigned in real life already.
ARTCC must have an active staff.

Reply with ICAO / ARTCC and directions to the Flight Training area that can be found in charts or explain where is this area going to be if not in charts.

Replies can be done here or to my email at [email protected]

General Discussion / VATFLY Fast Track for VATSIM
« on: March 18, 2013, 08:25:36 AM »
VATFLY introduces Fast Track

VATFLY is introducing The Fast Track programs for experience pilots in VATSIM. This program allows pilots with over 100 recorded hours in VATSIM to get P2 certified a lot faster. Once a month we coordinate with ARTCCs within the VATUSA airspace and our instructors so in one day we can do the Practical Exam for numerous pilots all at once. This will benefit all of those experiences pilots move ahead without the extended training.

On March 31st, 2013 we are hosting our first Fast Track event happening at our training airport (Fort Lauderdale Intl Airport). At 6:00pm eastern pilots will depart from FLL on a 45-minute flight to Tampa International. Pilots may choose their aircraft of preference as long is a commercial airliner.

The requirements to sign up for the program are:
1.   Over 100 recorded hours in VATSIM as a pilot.
2.   A valid VATSIM ID
3.   Sign up with VATFLY and the Fast Track Program.

Once you complete the flight our instructors will send the link for the written exam and soon after you will be a P2.
