San Francisco radio is not under a different division... LOL...  They fall under VATUSA... You would think that the VATUSA event person would know that
San Francisco Radio is not specifically controlled by VATUSA, it's controlled under the "Pacific Oceanic Partnership" which VATUSA is involved in, but does not own and operate it (Collaboration between VATPAC, VATNZ, VATUSA).

Unfortunately that happened to a lot of people that night. The controllers did the best they could, but I personally was experiencing gains or loss of up to 30 kts, which I couldn’t help. Good job to the dudes working BOS for doing what you could in those circumstances.

Join the Chicago ARTCC for a Friday evening out on Lake Michigan!  We will be staffing up Chicago O'Hare (KORD) and Chicago Midway (KMDW) for four straight hours and maybe even a little bit more, depending on how we feel afterward.


Pilots are encouraged to have updated scenery that includes all 7 runways, if you do not have those, please advise the controllers in your remarks or on initial contact.

It's Monday!  On February 11th, the Chicago ARTCC will be opening four GA airports for all to come into and fly, featuring Waukegan (KUGN), Aurora (KARR), Chicago Executive (KPWK), and Gary (KGYY) airports.  Come on down and fly your favorite piston, jet, or whatever your heart desires.


Good thing they didn't hire me to make event descriptions full time. :P
