Position Posting: Anchorage ARTCC Events Coordinator

Anchorage is VATUSA's largest Continental US ARTCC. We have over 2 million square miles of airspace open to explore, with everything from the Pacific Fjords in the southeast, glaciers across the state, arctic tundra of the north, and the real bush experience. Anchorage is a growing ARTCC with a need of someone energetic and committed to helping continue the growth that we have experienced.

Job Description:

The Events Coordinator is responsible for the planning, scheduling, and execution of events at the ARTCC. The Events Coordinator position requires a considerable amount of work.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Lead the events team to provide support for ZAN Event Operations.
- Identifies and develops events to generate traffic and promote the ARTCC.
- Implements and oversees approved events.
- Work closely with the training department to prepare our members for event positions.
- Coordinates with neighboring FIRs to arrange support for ZAN hosted events and neighboring events.
- Coordinates with VATUSA Command Center for event planning, traffic expectations, event execution, and debrief.
- Develops and distributes marketing materials to promote events and the ARTCC.

Minimum Requirements:

 - Must hold S3 rating, highly qualified S2s may be considered
 - Must have no disciplinary record with VATSIM, VATUSA, or ZAN within the last year.
 - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills as this is a client-facing position.
 - Ability to network with neighboring facilities.

Desired Qualifications:

 - S3 or higher rating preferred
 - Knowledge of the ZAN airspace and typical traffic loads in various event situations
 - Experience/talent in graphic design, typography, etc.
 - Experience with event planning of any type
 - Knowledge of Oceanic Procedures

Position: Training Administrator
Location: Seattle ARTCC (ZSE)
Time Commitment: 8 to 10 hours per week+, and required controller hours to maintain facility membership
Supervisor: Seattle ARTCC Air Traffic Manager

PURPOSE:

The virtual Seattle ARTCC is currently seeking applications for the position of Training Administrator.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

-   Report to Air Traffic Manager and VATUSA Deputy Director - Training Services
-   Manage an effective and efficient training program the meets ARTCC needs
-   Maintain training website and update as necessary
-   Lead and effectively manage a team of mentors and instructors
-   Maintain an online presence in facility Discord and on VATSIM network
-   Attend and participate in monthly staff meetings
-   Develop and maintain training materials for ATCTrainer and Academy
-   Other duties as assigned by the Air Traffic Manager

REQUIREMENTS:

-   Hold a rating of Controller 1 (C1) or higher
-   Active member in good standing on the VATSIM network with no significant disciplinary record
-   Have no history of unprofessional behavior
-   Have a strong knowledge of the United States ATC system, VATSIM ATC system, and FAA JO 7110.65
-   Hold no staff position on any competing networks
-   Be a ZSE home controller at the time of appointment or willing to transfer upon selection

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

-   Instructor 1 (I1) rating
-   Familiarity with the Seattle ARTCC
-   Understanding of the ZSE training program
-   Prior staff experience
-   Prior teaching/education experience

The ideal candidate is highly motivated with a drive for training, works well in a team atmosphere, has unique ideas to bring to the table and holds themselves and others accountable to high performance standards. Candidates should understand the time commitment and responsibility requirements associated with this position. Qualified candidates should expect an initial evaluation of their application after which they may be contacted for a comprehensive interview.

The letter of application should summarize the applicant's reasons for wanting to help lead the ZSE ARTCC, compelling evidence to show how the position requirements are met, and how the facility training program will thrive under the applicant's leadership.

Your virtual resume should consist of all prior VATSIM experience and any real-world experience you feel is applicable. Please also include your name, active email address, CID, current ARTCC, and current rating.

The mock training scenario should include the competencies that should be covered, the type of session, (classroom/sweatbox/live monitoring) and clear expectations with specific training to work on a certain skill (departure rush, sequencing, holding...etc).

The VATUSA Social Media Team is seeking a Team Lead & Video Production specialists!

Currently the SMT is seeking a Team Lead. Responsibilities include overseeing day to day social media posts, acting as a project manager to oversee the Flight Across America project.  This may include:

- Graphic Design
- Video Production
- Script writing
- Video Promotion


We are also seeking individuals with Video Production skills!  The SMT is embarking on a new pilot education focused short video series and we need production engineers to assist with editing, sound production, and to give input on how to create engaging pilot-focused short form videos. 

Desired skills:
- Video Production experience
- Team oriented project experience
- Creating engaging content
- Creating a killer intro for each video

The Jacksonville ARTCC is currently seeking applicants for the position of Training Administrator.

Duties to include:
Attends all ZJX Staff meetings.
Responsible for overview, development, and implementation of all training programs and materials.
Approving all mentor applications upon completion of the mentor-in-training program.
Nominating and managing all instructors, mentors, and mentors in training.
Serves as acting Air Traffic Manager in the absence of the Air Traffic Manager and the Deputy Air Traffic Manager.
Maintain an active online presence.

Minimum Requirements:
I1 rating or above.
No significant disciplinary record and no history of unprofessional behavior.
Be a home controller at the time of appointment.
Be in good standing on the VATSIM network.

Preferred Skills:
Have previous senior staff experience in a VATSIM ATC facility or current/former Instructor.

Purpose:
The Salt Lake City ARTCC is looking for a motivated individual who possesses a high degree of energy and commitment to serve as the Events Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities:
- Reports to and serves at the pleasure of the ATM and DATM.
- Maintains an online presence within the facility and on the VATSIM network.
- Manages a team of highly qualified individuals as part of the Events Team.
- Functions as an ARTCC junior staff member and attends meetings as necessary.
- Identifies and develops events to generate traffic and promote the ARTCCs.
- Develops and distributes marketing materials to promote ARTCC events.
- Implements and oversees approved events.
- Acts as CIC or TMU during ARTCC events when able, or designates a replacement on their behalf.
- Coordinates with neighboring ARTCCs to arrange support for local events.
- Coordinates with neighboring ARTCCs to provide vZLC support.
- Maintains relationships with VAs and coordinates support for VA events.

Requirements:
- Must hold at least an Aerodrome Controller (S2) rating (S3/C1 rating is preferred).
- Must be an active member of the VATSIM network in good standing.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must be able to work in a team environment and manage a team.

Preferred Skills:
- Leadership, managerial, or supervisory experience (real world or VATSIM applicable).
- Familiarity with Salt Lake City ARTCC policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate the qualities of understanding, patience, restraint, and professionalism.
- Have previous experience working with an event team.
