Tom, Euroscope has its advantages, but most facilities in the US are geared towards using VRC (or vSTARS and vERAM). VRC is a bit easier to use, and might be a good starting place for you.

Also most facilities do not create sector files for euroscope, and although VRC file work in euroscope there is a lot of info not in the file.

and with that i do use Euroscope in ZME, however any student i train is done with VRC and i make it clear that VRC is primary tool used

The Memphis ARTCC (ZME) is now accepting applications for the position of Facility Engineer.

Duties of the Facility Engineer (hereinafter referred to as FE):
* Reports to the ATM and DATM
* Maintains and updates sector files for all approved ATC client software, updating at least every AIRAC cycle.
* Maintains vATIS configuration files.
* Maintains POF and alias files.
* Coordinates with adjacent ARTCCs as required, specifically relating to frequency issues.
* Ensures established LOAs are fully represented within sector files and other procedures.
* Maintains the ZME Quick Reference Card and Frequency Lists.
* Performs other facility related work as directed by the Senior Staff at ZME.

Requirements for Applicants:
* Applicants must hold a VATSIM S3 rating or higher.
* Applicants must in good standing with VATSIM, VATUSA and their home ARTCC with no disciplinary history or record of unprofessional behavior.
* Applicants must be a member of ZME or be willing to transfer to ZME upon selection.
* Applicants must have a thorough working knowledge of VRC and vATIS, at least a good knowledge of Euroscope and be familiar with vSTARS and vERAM.
* Applicants must have maintained at least the minimum hours required by their home ARTCC for the previous 3 months prior to the application closing date.

The following skills and abilities will be considered favorable to an applicant:
* The applicant is able to provide evidence of commitment and self-motivation.
* The applicant has previous experience either as a FE or in assisting an existing FE.
* The applicant has demonstrated the ability to work well as a part of an established team.

Any interested candidates should submit the following:
* Full Name, active e-mail address, and VATSIM CID
* Resume and brief letter of intent
* Your vision and goals for the ZME FE and ideas on how the FE could enhance controller and pilot experience in ZME airspace, along with potential methods for achieving this.
*Candidates from outside ZME must submit a Letter of Recommendation from a Senior Staff Member (ATM/DATM/TA) at their current facility

Applicants may be requested to attend an interview on the ZME Teamspeak server. All applicants will be advised of the success of their application.
