News / Position Posting: ZFW Events Coordinator

The Fort Worth ARTCC is seeking an Event Coordinator to create and administer events and social media with the goal of promoting the ARTCC.


Responsibilities
*Reports to the ARTCC Air Traffic Manager/Deputy Air Traffic Manager
*Creates and advertises events both through official VATSIM channels as well as social media
*Whenever possible, functions as Controller-In-Charge of events, ensuring position coverage and a positive experience for all traffic in the airspace
*Functions as a staff member, attending meetings as necessary
*Coordinates with neighboring ARTCCs to arrange support for ZFW-hosted events, and arranges ZFW support for neighboring events
*Slots all events at least 48 hours prior to event start time; identifies and actively attempts to fill any coverage deficiencies
*Maintains relationships with virtual airlines and coordinates the execution of VA-related events
*Develops and distributes marketing material (graphics, news posts, forum posts, etc) to promote events and the ARTCC
*Maintains an active online presence on the network, ZFW Teamspeak, and the website


Minimum Requirements
*Must hold S3 Rating  (C1 preferred)
*Must have no disciplinary record with VATSIM, VATUSA, or ZFW ARTCC within the last year.
*Exceptional written and verbal communication skills as this is a client-facing position


Desired Qualifications
*Knowledge of the ZFW airspace and typical traffic loads in various event situations
*Experience/talent in graphic design, typography, etc.
*Experience with event planning of any type
*Pre-established network of VA contacts and controllers from other ARTCCs
*Familiarity with social media

Position Posting - ZFW Training Administrator

Purpose

The Fort Worth ARTCC (ZFW) is seeking a motivated individual to fulfill the role of Training Administrator (TA) to develop and maintain the ZFW training department.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversees and develops the ZFW training program.
- Reports to the ZFW Air Traffic Manager (ATM) and VATUSA Training Director (VATUSA3).
- Hires effective Instructors (I1) and Mentors as needed for ZFW requirements.
- Develops scenario files using Situation Editor for usage in Tower Trainer.
- Administers Over-the-Shoulder (OTS) Examinations on Sweatbox or the live VATSIM network.
- Maintains controller quality by adhereing to local standards and VATSIM GRP.
- Develops ZFW training policies and procedures.
- Trains ARTCC Mentors in effective teaching methods.
- Other duties as assigned by the ZFW ATM or VATUSA3.

Requirements

- Hold at least a C1 rating for at least 90 days.
- Have previous training experience as an Instructor or Mentor on the network
- Have no history of disciplinary or unprofessional conduct in the last 12 months.
- Be capable of managing a team of Mentors and working well in a team-oriented environment.
- Have a strong knowledge of the United States Airspace and Air Traffic Control systems.
- Must be familiar with the FAA JO 7110.65
- Understanding of all VATUSA/VATSIM policies as they apply to training and the granting of ratings.
- Have exceptional written and oral communication skills, including "bedside manner."
- Ability to create professional documents using Word or similar software.

Preferred Skills/Experience

- Supervisory, training, or management experience in the virtual or real world.
- Previous or current ARTCC Senior Staff experience.
- Instructor experience within VATSIM.
- A natural drive to help others.

Interested candidates should be aware that this is not an entry-level position and will require a significant time investment.  The successful Training Administrator must be able to maintain an active presence in the ARTCC, handle difficult situations, and lead by example for the training staff. Only those who understand the requirements and can make the appropriate commitment should consider applying.

Will Rogers World Airport (KOKC), Wiley Post Airport (KPWA), University of Oklahoma Westheimer Airport (KOUN), and Tinker Airforce Base (KTIK).  All aircraft welcome!

The Fort Worth ARTCC is seeking a Deputy Air Traffic Manager to assist the Air Traffic Manager in providing effective management and leadership of the VATUSA Fort Worth Air Route Traffic Control Center.

Duties:
* Enforcement of ARTCC policy.
* Maintains an active online presence within the facility Teamspeak and on the VATSIM network.
* Attends staff meetings as necessary.
* Provides guidance and help to all ARTCC members.
* Assists in Event creation/coordination, Website testing, Teamspeak management, and SOP/LOA maintenance.
* Manages the ZFW ARTCC roster.
* Other duties as assigned by the Air Traffic Manager.


Requirements:
* Must be an active member of the network in good standing with no recent or major disciplinary issues.
* Currently hold a rating of Senior Student (S3) or higher.
* Excellent interpersonal skills (both written and verbal).
* Prior ARTCC staff experience (or real-world management experience).
* Must control at least the minimum number of required hours as required by ARTCC Standard Operating Procedures to maintain active membership.


Desired Skills:
* Real-world managerial or supervisory experience (required if no ARTCC staff experience).
* Conflict resolution.
* Instructor or Mentor experience on the network, and/or the ability to maintain Instructor/Mentor status within the ARTCC, is a plus.
* Any skill that would help the DATM better assist other ARTCC staff (e.g. Graphic Design, Web Development, sector file maintenance, etc.).
* Nun-chuck skills... bo-staff skills...

This is not an entry-level position and will require a considerable time commitment. Only those who understand the requirements and can make the appropriate commitment should consider applying.
