ZFW ARTCC is currently seeking applicants for the position of Webmaster.

Duties:
Reports to the ATM regarding website matters.
Maintain an active online presence on the website, discord, email, and network.
Manages and oversees the ARTCCs data services including web content and delivery, web services, email systems, data storage systems, etc.
Must respond quickly to website and data system needs.
Develops and implements policies and procedures for the operation and maintenance of the ARTCC web and data systems.
Attends staff meetings as called by the ATM.
Any other duty assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
Must be an active member of the network in good standing.
Be a member of ZFW, or willing to transfer upon selection.
Must be proficient with modern web programming languages and techniques, including PHP, MySQL, and Laravel 8.x, and GitHub
Must be able to work in a team environment.
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.

Highly Desired Skills:
Have previous staff experience in a VATSIM ATC facility or virtual airline.
Previous VATUSA Webteam/personal web project experience.
Experience managing a small group of people.

Bonus points will be given to applicants that know:
JavaScript
cPanel
DNS Record Management
Linux Server Management
TeamSpeak Server Management

Name, active email address, and CID
Resume to include examples of previous work, including, if applicable, a GitHub or similar portfolio.
Short summary of any prior experience with PHP, MySQL and work on other VATUSA related projects.

The application period will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.

All applications will be considered. Suitable candidates will be contacted via email for an interview. All applicants will be informed of the final decision.

What is the set route function on some plans?  If listed it show a 0 or 0,1 or 0,1,2 etc.  The option is not listed on all fltplans

I believe it relates to the FAA pref route database

Rob brings up a great point, and I'm sorry to continue hijacking the event post, but I wanted to add something too. In the real world, customers (ie, the airlines) and the Command Center (the people in charge of watching and scheduling everything) work very closely together to ensure that airplanes are slotted in at the right times and delays are metered. This line isn't as clearly defined on VATSIM, but it does still exist.

Trust me, as a controller I don't want to be the bad guy delaying you for an hour, but remember that we're all on the same team here. We're all working towards the goal of a smooth event but it requires that both pilots and controllers do their part.
