Now that prize 1 and 2 are out of the bag, we will have to add prize 4 and 5 to replace them....

Have fun Don, but don't get too comfortable with those Atlantic Bottlenose creatures. That whole friendly smile thing is a myth. Their actually like oceanic pit bulls...........(I think I hear Animal Welfare responding now)

NOTAMs / Requesting assistance from Supervisors
« on: December 08, 2014, 10:50:05 PM »
Quote from: Michael Scott
I'm sure this is something so simple that no one is going to have a problem putting this in there training. When i train i always make sure my student knows the .wallop command because i know i didn't when i first start and let me tell you it got interesting on some occasions.

However, Jesse has brought up a good point and being a former sup as well i cant say i ever understood why, Can you please post in that forum and make sure that the supervisor themselves are reading the info coming in. I think many sups use an allis file as well for there initial contact which asks you to explain everything again.  I think instead of saying who you are and your role a  simple Hi. I'm working your issue, is sufficient for most on the network when we call them. At that point I'm expecting someone to show up of authority.

That has been a pet peeve of mine as well. However there has been a concerted push lately amongst SUP's to not reply with the alias file that says "Hi, how may I help you?" when the wallop already says what the problem is. SUP's are now being instructed to make an initial reply with words to the effect that they are working the issue when the wallop has enough detail in it.

Wait a minute....there's no option for the " please repeat via text" answer?????  As in, "I don't have a clue what the controller just told me so I'm going to fake a radio problem and ask that it be given over text instead" scenario.

General Discussion / Thank you, Veterans!
« on: November 11, 2014, 04:19:02 PM »
A shame that we only have one official day per year called Veterans Day.  In that we owe our way of life "every day" to our Veterans, we need to remain ever cognizant of that fact each and every day. To all those who have ever served, and those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our great nation, a sincere and heartfelt "THANK YOU".

And a special thank you to ZWY as well.  Not only did you guys have your own traffic to deal with, but our infusion of 131 departures also.  I was expecting to hold some aircraft but ZWY took every aircraft fluidly and promptly. No holds needed!

A great example of efficiency and teamwork. Kudo's to ZWY for a job also well done!

KJAX does get staffed by ZJX quite regularly. You probably just have been hitting it at the wrong times. Without checking the stats, I would venture to say that JAX is staffed just as much as MCO by ZJX.
