Gone for a week, and I spent much of the first day languishing at KLAS while SWA mechanical'd one airplane and kicked us all off, then it was eleven hours before actually getting airborne again. Now I've always liked Vegas, but I'd prefer not to spend my time in the airport. I should have used that time to get a tattoo saying "NEVER travel during Christmas week!! 

FSX is old, and many things have changed since it was released. Microsoft made no allowances for updating it. Runways, Navaids, frequencies, etc. have all seen changes that are not reflected in the FSX database. It's helpful when flying into or out of new airports to check the charts quickly for just that reason. You can do that by going to www.airnav.com/airports

There are some remedies available. Do a search on "how to update fsx database" and you will see some options.

Merging the pilot seniority lists is gonna be a nightmare.

Keep in mind there are supervisors from all over the globe, and some aren't real comfortable with the english language. You may still get a response from a SUP that requires repetition, but gradually over time it should get better. I've seen an improvement in wallops lately where at least the tail number is included, and I can just get right on it, but I may still ask for additional info, such as "how many attempts" and "for how long". That's just nice to know stuff, and I can wait for a response while I work on it, but it helps determine how the situation is handled.
