[Real] Coming to KIAD this weekend

[Real] Coming to KIAD this weekend

Hi guys!

Some may know my name, most probably don't. I am Andreas, currently the Director of VATSIM Germany (=vACC Germany) and I will be coming over to KIAD this weekend. I fly a business jet for a living and we will be taking clients from the UK to KIAD on Saturday, 27 April, arriving sometime in the afternoon, I guess. We will return to Europe on Tuesday, 30 April, only according to today's plan. Keep in mind, everything can change, it is a business jet

But in case that we will really be coming over, I would not want to miss the chance to meet up with some of you for lunch or dinner. Sunday may be a good opportunity, the weather forecast is quite optimistic.

If someone would be interested in meeting up in DC or at the Air&Space Museum in Dulles, let me know. The museum is on my list of things to do, I could not go there last time due to time constraints. We will be staying at  a hotel near Dulles airport.

Let me know here or by e-mail ( [email protected] ) if you are interested. I will confirm my journey on Saturday once we are ready for departure and really leaving. For those watching FlightAware etc. keep in mind that we will be making a fuel stop in KBGR, according to today's plan.

Ahhh, Andreas, I hate to be the one but someone has to.  I realize there are a few time zone differences between IAD and Germany so I want to be sure we all understand that you do mean THIS weekend, APRIL 27th right?   =lol=

And if so then I am sorry to say I won't be able to meet up which is shame because I too will be in the area for  the weekend.   As it turns out I am visiting family just outside of D.C. this weekend but I already know that free time is not something I will have any of. Perhaps another time then.

Argh!!! I indeed jumped too many timezones! Thanks for pointing this out, will change it in my post above.

What a pity that you won't be available, I would have been interested in meeting as well one of our "known names". If it helps....we are planned to stay until Tuesday, Monday would be possible, too. So far I do not know at what time we will depart on Tuesday, I will find out tomorrow. Me and my crew will begin our duty tomorrow and we will ferry our plane to the airport of departure in the London area.

I'm no where near there but my advice is to eat before you leave for the museums.  Food is way too expensive there for tourism purposes.

Willkommen, Andreas!  I wish I were able to meet with you, but unfortunately I am away for business in Taiwan, and unfortunately will not be returning until after you leave.  Perhaps someday!  I wish you a wonderful visit, and all the best.

Thanks for all your answers! What a shame that evryone is gone...in this case we need to dedicate our time to such boring things as shopping and sightseeing  

I will check back here later on. We will arrive in KIAD at around 2000LT today, return flight ln Tuesday in the evening.

What a pity that nobody had time to meet up with us! We had a great time in DC on Sunday, before the rain arrived, and Monday was filled with shopping, shopping ans shopping
