Searching for a New Headset
« on: November 14, 2016, 08:58:12 AM »
As the title states, I'm looking to purchase a new headset for use with VRC and vPilot.  I've done the normal Googling route but would like to get any suggestions from my fellow ZME controllers on the models you guys like and are currently using.

Thanks,

Keith

Hi Keith,

I've used the same Logitech H340 USB Headset for VRC, FSINN, XSquawkBox, vPilot, and TeamSpeak for past few years.

I've had to replace it once, so far, but it's pretty cheap and does the job well.  It's a USB plug, which I like a lot.

Link on Office Depot:  http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/221605/Logitech-H340-USB-Headset-Black/

It used to be about $10, but <$30 isn't too bad.

Though personally, if I were to upgrade I would splurge on a nice gaming headset like this: http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/414357/Logitech-G35-Gaming-Headset/

Hope this helps :) Welcome to ZME!

Note also that you can find the H340 new for $20 on Amazon and $13 on EBay (and refurbished/used for cheaper). :)

I got one of these but I cannot remember what model.  It was a bit more pricey but Amazon may have them as well.  For me it was all about the comfort.  So far I have enjoyed my headset.  It is definitely heavier duty than what you would buy from Walmart and certainly more comfortable.

Thanks guys for the tips.  I got a couple emails as well on suggestions and I decided to spend a little more and got the Kingston HyperX Cloud Gaming Headset from Amazon.  It arrives today so I'm hoping it's worth the money.
