A little off topic, but....
The 7110.65 isn't required reading material, but it absolutely make you a better controller if you utilize it. Although we arent real controllers, the .65 has tons of valuable information and addresses basically every situation that could arise while you are controlling. If you arent going to read it word for word, at least use it as a reference. There is no way VATUSA could include all of the information you may have to use at some point. Trust me, it will help you.

The Classroom (Controller Tips) / 30 Day requirment?

Im not speaking officially for VATUSA, but 30 days is actually a very quick time to obtain a new rating. Many people wait months and months before getting a new rating. I dont see how its even possible to master the S3/C1 material in less than a month. "Fast Tracking" is a practice that is, in my opinion, totally useless as it will come back and bite you later on. My advice is to take time and absorb the material and really get it under your belt before trying to move up the ranks so fast.
There is always more to learn.

The Flight Deck / GPS Arrival and Departure Procedurs

Try using [a href=\\\"http://simroutes.com/\\\" target=\\\"_blank\\\"]http://simroutes.com/[/a] . Go to "Generate Routes." Here you can upload your own route to the GPS, including a departure procedure. I do warn you however, that some of them are a little out dated, so it may be best for you to write in the way points one-by-one as seen in the chart. After you hit "Generate Route" and on the next page "Download Flight plan," you can save the FPL file and open it up in flight simulator by loading it through the flight planning area.

Hey guys,
I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone thought. Based on what I've heard, ZOB seems to be the busiest en-route airspace (CTR) airspace in the US in real life. What about VATSIM? Has anyone ever thought about that?
I say ZDV. It seems it gets the most overflights to the west coast, but I'm wondering what everyone else thinks.
