New Process for I1 Selection
« on: February 06, 2017, 07:44:49 PM »
The new process for I1-Instructor Appointments is now active.  Training Administrators will contact VATUSA 3 via email and VATUSA3 will coordinate assigning the Instructor Examination to the candidate.  There are training CBT's that the candidate will be required to view before the system will allow them to take the examination.  If you have any questions about this process please email me at [email protected]

Interesting.  Looking forward to seeing how this effects the progression and efficiency of new instructors.

Would the apply for C1 and C3 members being recommended for TA by the ATM when a TA position is vacant?

Yes in the absence of the T/A (T/A Position vacant), the ATM can certainly make a recommendation.

My question was probably worded a little ambiguous.

Are TA candidates not holding a rating of I1 or I3 at the time they are recommended by the ATM for TA position also subject to the instructor examination?

I just went through the instructor CBT's for the first time.
I have to say... EXCELLENT job!  I wish those had been available when I first became an instructor.
I'll be suggesting to our TA that all ZOB instructors and mentors review the instructor CBT's.

I just spoke with our TA about having our instructing staff review the CBT's.  Is there a way to just make them available to existing instructing staff?

It is set up so that C1 and above can see it.

Thinking out loud here, but wouldn't that be good material for anyone potentially interested in mentoring or instructing to see?

I do not have an issue with it.  This was a security feature that was put in when the site was built.   Maybe it should be left up to each facility.  All C1's can see it so no harm if others can see it as well, I assume.

No need to decide by facility -- I think anyone who has an interest in training could benefit from the material.  Thanks.

I added rating limits about a month ago. ;)
