Title: VFR Charts
Post by: Sekonda Huet on June 29, 2013, 07:07:29 PM
Hi Pilots!

In accordance with FAA regulations I present this scenario, if my education on VFR Charts is correct what I propose is legal and absolutely allowed, if not please educate me otherwise.

In this VFR Chart, let's say I am in a Single-Prop GAA aircraft, departing to the NE from Compton Woodley (dead centre) and I take off and fly NE non-stop until I leave the Class-B border of LAX Airspace, based on the information in this chart I therefore should be able to take off and depart from that particular airport without any prior contact to the controlling centre as long as I squawk Charlie and do not exceed 1900 feet or go below 1200 feet I should, therefore, not enter the controlled airspace for Bravo and thus do not need to contact ATC in anyway.

TL;DR, As long as I am under the minimum's of B Airspace as depicted on the chart and depart an airport not otherwise indicated as controlled, I'm not required to contact ATC?
