So the way an ATC will "deny" you service is by simply replying "Stand By".
Or, of course, you could be specifically told, "[Callsign], remain clear of the Class [C/D] airspace."

To answer your other question, yes, from the event briefing, you could be told to remain clear of airspace.  Generally, transitions through an airspace are done workload permitting.  Although I wouldn't expect you to be told to remain clear, it is certainly possible.

Congrats, Clif!  I hid a bottle of 15 year aged scotch, for each of the next 5 ATMs that succeeded me, in the third ceiling tile from the left adjacent to the window in the office.  As long as no one broke trust and snuck an extra bottle, you've got the final one.  Don't down it in one sitting -- remember, MaineCare won't pay for another liver for you.... :)

Gotta love WorldFlight taking 40-60 aircraft into airports that are way too small to accommodate 40-60 aircraft....

JAC_GND: "Giant 1471 Heavy, the aircraft in front of you is disabled, do you feel comfortable running him over?"  "Excellent, Giant 1471 Heavy, Runway 19, taxi via A, you may run over or through or however you like crush the 737 on the taxiway in front of you...."   And followed mere seconds later by SPK245 calling, having overrun the snowy, icy runway.... "SPK245, yes, I see you down there in that ditch.  Next left on Main Street, third left on Aviation Way, past the Alamo Rent A Car, through the fence, and you should be able to find a gate."  Yes, it was a fun time for my first time ever working KJAC (or anywhere in Salt Lake City Center, for that matter).  I guess I know why if they don't ask me back.... ;) ;) ;)

The Flight Deck / Re: Using vPilot with FSX:SE

Glad you got it working.  Just a suggestion -- take a quick breeze through the vPilot FAQ and Tips, Tricks and Troubleshooting Guide.  It would have answered your question on this issue (and answers a lot of other questions/issues).

The Flight Deck / Re: Updates for Navigation?

1.  How do I keep from angering the ATC and other pilots when I'm flying out of/in to places, considering I'm using vanilla FSX:SE, with respect to IFR Flight Plans?  (Sounds like "/a" is a solid go-to, and just plan through FSX?)
File only a flight plan you can fly.  In other words, don't file fixes you don't have/can't find.  And for God's sakes, please don't plan through FSX!!!!!  It's rubbish!  I think whoever developed that "functionality" couldn't even spell the word pilot, and certainly wasn't one.... ;)    Use charts (available free from the FAA and a bajillion other sources).

2.  I like the idea of a higher-end pay-for plane, but I don't think I can justify that just yet, having just returned.  Perhaps in a couple of months.  That said, anything particular to look for?
Yeah, once you're ready, a lot of folks start out with the PMDG B737 NGX.  The reality is a new dimension compared to default.  I flew default for over 10 years.  Now I won't go back (at least 98+% of the time....).

3. I tried installing the stuff from aero.sors.fr, and a couple of things happened.  First, got some scenery errors.  I worked through those, and loaded up at KMEM (I have a SID printed out for that, so I had a few intersections I could look for).  I didn't find any of the intersections.  Any way to tell if the install worked, and these simply weren't there, or they're there, but the install failed?
4.  With that in mind--did I understand that response correctly?  It effectively inserts the newer fixes, intersections,  etc?
Never heard of that.  And thousands of members have done it successfully.  Can you elaborate on the errors?  Remember that there are 2 updates -- one for NAVAIDs and one for Fixes....  Suggest doing both.

Thanks a ton.  I don't want to wear-out my welcome with the newbie questions, but this feels sort of...well...basal for the whole system.
We were all newbs once, and all learned a ton along the way.  Hopefully, we're not only all still learning every day, but trying to share/help folks every day too. :)

I have to assume and hope you're joking, but I'm reasonably certain that it is simply a saying using an example....
