Virtual Airlines / Southwest Virtual is looking for ACTIVE pilots!

Dear all,

"Well now is your chance to be apart of Southwest Virtual! Southwest Virtual is HIRING, yes, I said HIRING ACTIVE Pilots! At Southwest Virtual, we keep nothing but our friendly reputation going! Whether your West Coast, East Coast or digging for some High Plains or Desert Southwest, Southwest Virtual is the place for YOU!"

What a difference a space can make.  Rather than this being "a chance to be apart of Southwest Virtual..." (which apparently many pilots have already opted to do) it actually is a chance to be a part of Southwest Virtual.

And I also happen to believe it is a very good VA.  Which is why I am SWA4173 with over 83 flights in my SWA logbook.

The Flight Deck / FS9 and SB questions
« on: October 16, 2009, 07:59:43 PM »
2 questions about FS9 and SB:

-Is it possible to disable the green strip text line so that it does not appear.  I seem to recall that the text comms all used to appear only in the SB box.  And if I am not hallucinating this then I would like to return to that state.

-My multiplayer labels are cycling between the aircraft callsign/type/distance and they used to just show the callsign.  I also have not been seeing all the traffic in my vicinity at times.  This function used to show just callsign and all traffic appeared.  I have also noticed that the type label more often than not shows it as a VIP model and the liveries lack full detail.

Virtual Airlines / New VA! AirTran VA!

Yea I heard that too! I would be on the safe side and ask first!

I was actually involved in that issue a few years ago and the position of the Airtran counsel at that time was that any reference to or use of copyrighted Airtran logos or anything else was forbidden and non-compliance would result in legal action.  I hope they might be more lenient now but I would not count on it.

The Control Room Floor / ATIS by CTR controllers
« on: May 04, 2009, 12:27:07 AM »
One of my pet peeves is reading a CTR controller's logon information and finding an ATIS for one airport in the sector.  More often than not the airport is not even identified.  It seems to me that a CTR controller should not post information pertaining to just one airport.  I feel it is better to have a blank login notice than to possibly confuse pilots by having them think this is the information for the airport where they are located or is their destination.
