Come join VATUSA and VATCAN via Seattle ARTCC and Vancouver FIR in a crossfire. ZSE will be sponsoring the beautiful Portland International Airport (KPDX) and YVR will be sponsoring Vancouver International Airport (CYVR). Whether you pull out the Q400, or bring in a 737 (or any larger aircraft!), the short 1-hour flight in this 3-hour event will give you plenty of time to do a turnaround and return trip.
Join us on May 17, 2020 (05.17.2020) from 2200-0100z (1500-1800 PDT) out of PDX or YVR. See you all on the scopes!

« on: April 01, 2020, 11:22:41 AM »I might have to participate. I flew through the gorge back in March of 2004 on my 250nm solo x-c from KGEG to KHIO with a touch-and-go at KPSC on the way back when I attempted getting my commercial. It's still a highlight of my life.
It will be a great refresher to see the amazing scenery through the gorge after such a long time! We hope to see you there. Bring some friends if you have the chance to grab any.

Events / [04/15/2020 2200-0100Z] VFR through the Gorge

Come out to the great Pacific Northwest with this VFR flight through the Columbia River Gorge! In this event, you will depart out of KPDX starting at 5:00 pm PDT (1700PDT, 2359z), fly through the gorge until Columbia Gorge Regional/The Dalles (KDLS)/Klickitat VOR (LTJ) then make a Southbound turn towards Roberts Field (KRDM/Redmond)/Deschutes VOR (DSD) anytime until 8:00 pm PDT (2000PDT, 0300z).
If you would like to fly this route as IFR (or if the weather is not good on the day of...) the routing will be as follows: BTG V112 LTJ V25 DSD. The routing through the gorge will give you between a 1 hour to 1.5-hour flight.
Seattle ARTCC is excited to be hosting this VFR event, and we can't wait to watch the sunset with you on April 15th!

Join Seattle ARTCC in flying to Honolulu ARTCC's beautiful warm state of Hawaii. On February 8, 2020, you will be departing from KPDX or KSEA and arriving in Hawaii at either PHNL or PHOG. Depart from Seattle ARTCC between 1100-1300 PST (1900-2100 Zulu). We can't wait to see you all in Hawaii!

Join Seattle ARTCC in ending off 2019 and welcoming back the 20s in this NEW DECADE! We will be staffing up Sea-Tac (KSEA) and Portland (KPDX) on December 29, 2019, from 1400-1700 PST (2200-0100 Zulu). Fly a short 30-minute hop between PDX and SEA, or a longer flight into another neighboring ARTCC. We are excited to see you on the scopes!
