Events Coordinator

ZJX is seeking a qualified, professional, and motivated individual to fill the role of Events Coordinator. This individual will play a critical role in revolutionizing Jacksonville's events, to provide our controllers and pilots with the best experience possible.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining an online presence within the facility and on the VATSIM network.
- Attending staff meetings.
- Ideating and executing ZJX events.
- Conducting event briefings.
- Developing event materials and resources.
- Coordinating with adjoining ARTCCs for events.
- Serving as a liaison for both virtual airlines and other ARTCCs.
- Marketing ZJX to the VATSIM community.
- All other responsibilities which help to accomplish the mission, goals, and vision of ZJX.


Key Requirements
- Hold a Student 2 (S2) rating or above.
- Have knowledge of Photoshop or equivalent software.
- Have knowledge of marketing strategies.
- Have knowledge of event organization and management.
- Possess a high degree of energy and commitment appropriate to the requirements of the position.
- Have no significant disciplinary record.
- Have no history of unprofessional behavior.
- Be in good standing on the VATSIM network.
- Be a home controller at the time of appointment.

Because this position demands a highly specialized skillset, all applicants will be required to complete the following:
- A Cover Letter
- A Resume
- A well-developed set of goals/ideas/projects that they plan to work on if appointed to the EC position
- A fully developed event (including event name, date, time, positions, event description, banner, and marketing strategy)

Truly the home of Southern Charm and Flair, bring out anything from your Grumman Traveler to your A321 (Boeings get love too) and take some hops between premier destinations in the Lowcountry of Georgia and South Carolina. The Savannah (SAV), Hunter (SVN), Hilton Head (HXD), Beaufort (NBC), and Charleston (CHS) airports will be staffed top to bottom for full service. Sit back, grab some sweet tea (and maybe gator fritters) and take a tour of the Lowcountry on January 6th, 2021 from 2359-0300z.

Jacksonville ARTCC continues its “Staff It Up Sunday!” events.

This week we will be featuring Myrtle Beach International Airport, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Our primary focus is to staff up the MYR ATCT and radar facilities. From airliners to a Skyhawk in the pattern, all traffic is welcome. Enjoy your afternoon with us for a Sunday flight, in a professional ATC environment.

The event is from 2100z (1700 ET) to 2359z (1959 ET) on Sunday, October 20th. Come fly with us!

On the night before Halloween, fire up your favorite jet, prop (or maybe even a ramjet?) and join ZJX for the return of a "Not so Scary" FNO featuring Orlando International (MCO) and Jacksonville International (JAX). Is Northern Florida so scary Jacksonville will host an FNO every Halloween? We'll just have to find out next year.

It's the middle of summer in the Sunshine State, and the one of the best ways to cool off is a beverage involving none other than what unites Florida: Oranges. Join the Jacksonville and Miami ARTCC's at the peak of summer to fly between airports staffed in every corner of the state, from Pensacola in the Panhandle to the Key's and the city of Miami, all will be fully staffed up for you to fly into, and back out of. Make sure to bring some oranges too, whether you're serving in up on your in-flight service  or hauling crates of it in your hold, we look forward to seeing you!

244 years ago, the US of A declared its independence from our gracious friends across the pond. One of the acts of protest was the infamous "Boston Tea Party" before the war. This year Atlanta and Jacksonville are having our own "Tea Party" but with some extra Sugar and Jet A-1. Fly between Atlanta Hartsfield in Georgia down to Central Florida at Orlando International in this crossfire with ZTL and ZJX on July 5th from 7-11PM ET (Thats 2300-0300z for our hot tea drinkers)
