Title: Back At It - Advise Needed
Post by: Joe Campbell on October 24, 2017, 01:25:42 PM
Hey all,

After a few year hiatus (2012ish-now), I am considering a return to the sim. I don't see myself returning to the airline world but GA flights around the PNW appeal to me at the moment. P3d seems to be the way of the future although I'm sure FSX is still enough to get by. What do you all think in terms of smoothness, simplicity, specs, etc? Also, are there any big changes in the way VATSIM operates now vs 5 years ago? Thanks in advance. See you all in the skies soon-ish. :)

Welcome back, Joe.

First and foremost, if you're going to be flying mainly GA, please please please do yourself a huge favor and by your pick of the A2A Simulations products: http://a2asimulations.com/ . They are the BEST GA products available for flight-sim.  Period.

I still use FSX, and I have no big issues.  Some people swear by P3D, though...

As for VATSIM, it's the same, more or less.
