This is why we can't have nice things.  Thank you Clay and Jamar for trying to make a nice event and add in a little outside the box fun in the spirit of Air Venture.  Shame it is getting ridiculously political.

There is scenery available for FSX at http://www.theskylounge.tv/files/file/39-fsxa-oshkosh-airventure-2016-kosh/ .  You must register for the site to download.  Includes the color spots and other features.  Also works fine in P3Dv4.

Any interest in voice hosting up the frequencies for the SFRA?  123.050 and 123.075?

Okay.  I see the intent.  Outbound taxi from the ground controller would seem to be more affected, as a local controller would be doing that anyway, just with the instruction to contact ground after the crossing.  Thanks for the info.

Reading the full text of 3-7-2, I'm not seeing a whole lot of deviation from current procedure.  I realize it is, and what is in the changelog, but the full text still specifies allotment for "Runway 20, taxi via J M, cross runway 12" as an example.

SOCAL local routing is generally done via TEC routes.  Their site can provide you good guidance.

It happens Ian.  I was personally affected as the approach and tower controllers both logged off about 45min into the event, or shuffled around to a more demanding sector.  However, there are no hard feelings on my end, and I am sure that the organization did the best it could for the most it could, and that's what makes an event successful in the end.  Take care.

Definitely recommend VFR around the island using the preferred routing above.  Those who may not want to commit to a oceanic crossing, or island hopping will find tight airspace, terrain challenges, and beautiful scenery.  The HNL controllers recently did a great job accommodating me as a VFR flight.

I wasn't able to make it today.  None the less I wanted to say thank you for both creating a GA focused event, and hosting the event during the daylight hours.  That is great outreach to the GA population, and I hope it went great.

my questions have been answered. someone should make a scenry that allows for the NOTAM to be fully valid in my opinion. :p

I think the above linked scenery does a great job for the field itself.  Aside from that, I imagine any landclass and vector scenery will accurately place the towns, roads, and railroad tracks.

Obviously not changeable, so just verbalizing aloud.  Why is this an evening/night event?  If any event should be a daytime event, it's this one simply based on the visuals alone.  I realize one can still capture some daylight early in the event, but just seems strange, especially when offering it on a weekend.
