The Control Room Floor / LCTP Airports
« on: September 14, 2010, 04:32:35 PM »
As I understand it, upon the release of GRP v2, LCTP airports no longer exist.  Is this a correct statement?

Thanks,

The Control Room Floor / Losing "MAJOR" Endorsement
« on: September 14, 2010, 04:29:09 PM »
Assume you have attained a "MAJOR" endorsement for a given airport.

Sometime AFTER gaining this endorsement, a member of the staff decides to revoke that endorsement.  Is this legal in the eyes of VATSIM?

I am NOT speaking of a VATSIM Rating, merely the endorsement.

Thanks,

General Discussion / VATNA Policy 0505

Suggestion for anyone involved in a DCRM process...

Given that I know of at least one incident, there are likely more, that may be heading to DCRM.  I'd like to suggest to those people involved that a possible defense to be used, is to claim the following...

How can I be held to an INVALID rule?  Given that the rule does not comply with VATNA 0505, is it possible to be enforced at the DCRM, RCRP, or with the VP of Conflict Resolution?

VATNA Policy is quite clear on this topic, and years later, there are still no rules that exist below the Regional level within VATNA.  Why is it that VATSIM refuses to fix this simple issue?

Oh yeah, NO ACCOUNTABILITY!

Any other thoughts?

General Discussion / VATNA Website Question
« on: March 17, 2010, 11:37:00 PM »
When will the VATNA website comply with requirements of the Code of Regulations?  Better yet, why wasn't it set up in compliance with the CoR?

It seems that following the rules still is optional in VATSIM, or shall we call it "selective enforcement"?

General Discussion / VATNA Policy Review
« on: March 17, 2010, 11:30:00 PM »
In this link, VATNA1 said the following...

[!--quoteo--][div class=\\\'quotetop\\\']QUOTE [/div][div class=\\\'quotemain\\\'][!--quotec--]I'm starting my full review of the VATNA policies tonight (including 05/05 just for you Jason!)...

and

However, as I mentioned above, I am (tonight) begining a review of all the VATNA policies, particularly the ones that were in effect since long before I got here. 05/05 is the big one, and will most likely be removed entirely. I have no intention of micromanaging any facility to the extent that every little change has to be run by me first, however, there are some changes that are going to have to take place within local policy. Those will be addressed when the time comes.[/quote]

4 weeks later, where does this review stand?

General Discussion / Who is the final authority?
« on: February 18, 2010, 08:27:57 AM »
If I have a question about a policy, who do I speak to?  What method of communication?

I ask because I have been told the following;

1)  Emails are private (cannot be shared) and the opinions contained in them are those of the individual, and are only their interpretation.
2)  Forum posts are not required reading, and are therefore not enforceable
3)  Voice conversations, recorded or not, are not able to be used, as you cannot positively identify the people on the recording.

So, what is the method of communication that will allow for an interpretation of policy that will be backed up by all members of the chain of command, and we can get away from the "double talk".

I guess this begs the question.  Will the answer in this forum be the correct way, the "official" way?

General Discussion / Rumor control. Please confirm or deny
« on: February 08, 2010, 09:44:02 PM »
I have heard a rumor about, and I am seeking clarification on the following...

1)  Was a previous VATUSA Division Director asked by the President of VATSIM NOT to post questions in the GRP discussion?

2)  Was a "more recent" VATUSA Division Director not given access to the GRP discussion even though it was asked for?

I am asking because I am curious as to how much representation the members of VATUSA had in the formation of the GRP?

Best,

Guys,

You will be missed, best of luck in your next "careers".

Three more good people run out.

Oh, but don't worry, there will be more, as there is no problem at the top right?

Best of luck guys, and thanks for your service!
