Job Title: Events Coordinator
Location: Houston ARTCC and all ATC facilities within its area of control.

Houston is looking for a motivated individual that possesses a high degree of energy and commitment to serve as the Events Coordinator.

Job Requirements:

Supports the Houston ARTCCs mission of “Creating a Positive Environment to Learn, Control, and Fly.”
Serves as a Leader to coach and motivate controllers while upholding a culture that builds exceptional internal and external pilot experiences.
Supports and participates in initiatives that give back to the VATSIM community.
Works in collaboration with Virtual Airlines and other VATUSA ARTCCs to leverage synergy opportunities across the United States.
Coordinates with neighboring ARTCCs to arrange support for ZHU-hosted events, and arranges ZHU support for neighboring events.
Develops and distributes marketing material (graphics, news posts, forum posts, etc) to promote events and the ARTCC.
Supports the recruitment, retention and development of a diverse range of talented people.
Holds self and others accountable to high performance standards while providing pilots with memorable experiences.
Understands and drives appropriate metrics to assess controller performance within the Event’s environment.
Ability to listen to feedback and take constructive action.
Maintains an online presence on the VATSIM server and ZHU TeamSpeak.
Attends periodic meetings to report on ARTCC activities.

Application Requirements:

Must have at least an S3 rating. C1 controllers preferred.
Must abide by the minimum required hours as dictated in the ZHU SOP; 1 controlling hour a month and 2-4 hours fulfilling EC duties every week.
Must be an active member of the network in good standing.
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must be able to work in a team environment.
Must be available for regular correspondence (via the primary means of e-mail), as well as routinely checking VATUSA forums and other outlets for official notices.
Candidates can expect an initial evaluation of their application after which they may be contacted for a comprehensive interview.
