Purpose:
The Atlanta ARTCC is looking for a motivated individual with high energy and commitment to serve as the Events Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities:
- Reports to the DATM; ATM and VATUSA5 as necessary.
- Maintain an active online presence on the website, TeamSpeak, forums, email, and network.
- Attends staff meetings as called by the ATM.
- Plans, schedules, and executes at least one ZTL-sponsored event each quarter.
- Promotes ZTL events via all communication methods available to ensure active participation.
- Develops and distributes marketing material (graphics, news posts, forum posts, etc) to promote events and the ARTCC.
- Coordinates with divisional and neighboring ARTCCs for event support and planning.
- Acts as the primary liaison between virtual aviation organizations and the ARTCC.
- Supervises events by having an online presence, or by assigning an appropriate Controller in Charge (CIC) for events.
- Ensure events are appropriately staffed.
- Any other duty assigned.

Requirements:
- Must have at least a Senior Student (S3) rating (S2-rated controllers may be considered)
- Must be an active member of the network in good standing
- Be a member of ZTL, or willing to transfer upon selection
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Skills:
- Leadership, managerial, or supervisory experience (real world or VATSIM applicable).
- Familiarity with Atlanta ARTCC policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate the qualities of understanding, patience, restraint, and professionalism.

Location: Miami ARTCC
Time Commitment: 4 to 8 hours per week+, and required monthly controller hours to maintain ARTCC membership
Supervisor: Southern Region Manager (RM) - VATUSA5

VATUSA is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Air Traffic Manager at the Miami ARTCC. This position is not an entry-level position and will require significant time commitments to effectively perform the duties of Air Traffic Manager.


Duties of the ATM:

- Reports to the Southern Region Manager and directs the operations and management of the assigned facility
- Must maintain an online presence on the VATSIM network
- Maintains facility website and discord/teamspeak
- Drafts ARTCC SOPs, LOAs and other appropriate documents; seeks RM approval for the same
- Ensures ARTCC SOPs, LOAs and other appropriate documents are readily available for viewing/download
- Functions as VATUSA staff member and attends meetings as necessary to discuss and stay current with region and division issues, policies, and initiatives
- Manages and defines the duties of ARTCC staff; submits selection of Deputy ATM and Webmaster to the RM for division confirmation; submits selection of Training Administrator to the Training Director for division confirmation
- Provides guidance and help to assigned controllers; may establish a staff of "Mentors" to assist with training
- Works with or delegates a liaison to work with region/division-level Events Coordinators on events as necessary
- Addresses disciplinary situations with the Southern Region Manager when appropriate


Minimum Requirements:

- Possess a high degree of energy and commitment appropriate to the requirements of the position
- Must have at least a Controller (C1) rating
- Must be an active member of the network in good standing
- Must be able to work in a team environment and function as a team member
- Must conduct themselves in a professional manner in all interaction within their role
- Have no significant disciplinary record, no history of unprofessional behavior

Highly Desired Skills:

- Demonstrates qualities of understanding, patience, and maturity.
- Understands the role of the ARTCC and ARTCC staff within the Southeastern Region, VATUSA, and VATSIM Americas
- Understands the position requires CONSIDERABLE commitment of time
- Prior ARTCC staff experience
- Prior or current Instructor or Mentor experience
- Experience effectively managing others through good leadership practices
- Real world management experience

Please help me congratulate Joshua Seagrave as Houston’s newest Air Traffic Manager! Joshua is the current DATM, and has done a phenomenal job thus far, and has big plans for ZHU. I’d also like to thank Marcus Miller, who is the outgoing ATM, and has done a fantastic job leading ZHU.
