Events / [30MAY] Light Up America!

VATUSA is excited to announce the return of Light Up America on Saturday May 30, 2015. This event will feature all 22 ARTCCs within VATUSA for 10 hours. 4 hours of which the entire continental USA will be lit up with Air Traffic Control at the Centers as well as Major Approach and Tower facilities. Enjoy uninterrupted ATC during the event. Simply fly between any airports as much you would like and enjoy the quality ATC Services that VATUSA facilities pride themselves on.

Every facility will be on for at least a 6 hour time frame with the East Coast facilities starting up at 12:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time. As the event progresses, the additional centers will log on at noon in their local time zone. By 3:00 PM all the centers will be online for you. As the event winds down, facilities will be encouraged to remain online, but must remain online until at least 6:00 PM local time. As they begin to close down, we will extend the event even further west with the Anchorage, Honolulu, and Oakland Oceanic control facilities coming online to work your Hawaii and Alaska flights! It will be a great day of flying for you.

We have lots of prizes available to those pilots that do a bit of exploring around the country during the event.

VATUSA's Friday Night Ops event is going abroad and being graciously hosted by our friends at VATPAC.

Event times are 2300z-0500z on 23JAN (1800-0000 US EST Friday 23 JAN) [10:00-1600 Australian EDT on 24JAN]

This event will feature Sydney (YSSY) and Melbourne (YMML)

Due to the 4th of July holiday falling on this Friday. VATUSA will not be hosting the weekly Friday Night Ops as many controllers and pilots will be celebrating with their families.

We look forward to seeing you again at KSAT on July 11.

ZMP has two candidates for their S2 and S1 ratings undergoing their Over the Shoulder examinations at KMSP tonight. They will be on position from 2030 - 2230 Central Daylight Time (0130 - 0330 z] Come make them earn their ratings!

ZMP's Annual Live event will be 24 hours of real ops starting with FNO on July 29th at 1900 CDT and officially ending at 1900 CDT on July 30th, but we will be controlling late into the night on the 30th!
