Two years ago, we educated the community about pronouncing Westchester correctly (it’s pronounced “wes-ches-tah”). As Memorial Day weekend approaches, the New York ARTCC believes it is our civil duty once again to declare the proper pronunciation of a popular summer destination:
Long Island Lawn-Guy-Land. Don’t think about saying it any other way or our controllers will taxi you to a blast pad and blast you into nonexistence.
