Just a heads up Alex, but the routing from BIKF-ANC goes backwards from TAGER to ENN.
I would recommend changing it to this: GIMLI 6530N 6840N 7250N 7660N 7770N SINVU M454 POTAT J167 FYU ENN TAGER8

The Classroom (Controller Tips) / Re: vERAM Handoffs

You're probably not in his vis/radar range.
Although it's unrealistic, I gave one of my radars a very large range so I don't really lose coverage within 30-40 nm of my borders.

You should (if you can attempt a handoff) have the aircraft in your radar range. Unless the controller who you are handing off to is well outside their range, you *should* be able to handoff normally.

At this rate, you might become the first ATO to certify to P6.

Evening Eric,
Welcome to VATSIM (and VATUSA). Although I cannot speak for ZOB, I would try emailing their staff members. [email protected]
You may also want to open a ticket on the Help Desk: http://tickets.zobartcc.com/

Good Luck!

General Discussion / Re: "SWA1321 With you@FL330"

If I can also add, when you are on the ground, you most certainly want to give the airport you are at, with sufficient detail as well.
I too often here simply, "Miami Center, ABC123, good night". Once I told a pilot "say location" -- response: "ramp"  ::)
Providing no further information requires the controller to go back and have to figure out what you want, where you are, etc.

Initial call should more or less be: "XXX CTR, ABC123, at AIRPORT (additionally position on airport), (INFO _, WITH WEATHER, etc.), REQUEST"
That lets the controller know who you are, where you are, what you want, and what you already know... which ultimately means they can potentially get a clearance for you sooner and free up the frequency for other transmissions.

General Discussion / Re: Is there a way to make my name Private?
« on: February 23, 2016, 05:14:45 PM »
By signing up for VATSIM and agreeing to the COC, you are more or less agreeing to use your name in a public environment. By signing up for VATUSA, you are thus extending your name usage to its forums.
