Fly to New York City via LaGuardia Airport and come see a show for Broadway’s reopening. While you’re at it, grab a slice from one of our iconic pizzeria’s followed by treats from Magnolia Bakery. Experience some of the best approaches into New York with views of the NYC skyline no matter where you fly from.

So fire up your GA, Biz Jets, airlines, anything in between, and come check out LaGuardia Airport located just north of downtown Manhattan! Alternatively, fire up your piston and fly VFR down the Hudson. We’ll take whatever you got!

We know what you’re thinking... It's been too long since you’ve been held at the gate for hours waiting on a release. Well, fear no more. It’s time to up your fuel planning cause you’re gonna be holding.

Here’s the deal, the only runway that’s not closed due to <insert excuse here> is Runway 9L/27R. For three terrifying hours, we’ll be running single runway ops at Philly.

Please join me in congratulating ZNYs new DATM, Gizep Ferranti!

Gizep has been helping out myself and Anthony with administrative tasks for quite some time and has been doing a fantastic job at it, and I'm absolutely certain that he will do a fantastic job as our new DATM!

Congratulations and good luck Gizep! You have some huge shoes to fill!

Please join me in welcoming Amin Abrahem as ZNYs newest Facilities Engineer! Amin joins us from ZOB where he has spent time previously as their ATM and TA and he has now chosen to help ZNY in the role as FE.

News / Position Opening: ZNY Facilities Engineer

ZNY is currently seeking a Facility Engineer who will assist the Air Traffic Manager and Training Administrator in maintaining the ARTCC sector file and documentation (including SOPs).

Duties include:
Reports to the ATM
Maintains an active online presence on the website, Teamspeak, forums, email and network.
Acts as a staff member, leading and supporting ARTCC members
Attends staff meetings as called by the ATM
Maintains the ZNY VRC sector files, updating them with the latest AIRACs.
Maintains the ZNY POF, Alias, vATIS files and updating them as required.
Updates and develops SOPs in collaboration with other staff members.

Requirements:
Must have a good knowledge of VRC sector, video maps and how they are developed.
Should have an understanding and the ability to support Euroscope sector files.
Knowledge and experience with MediaWiki.
Working knowledge of Git.
Experience with AutoCAD
Experience with using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or InkScape
Some understanding of Java (To be able to compile and run a Java project to simplify AIRAC updates)

Skills that are a plus
Previous experience as an FE or as an assistant to an FE.
Ability to maintain TWRTrainer or similar tools to develop Sweatbox scenarios.

I'm really excited to announce that Anthony Santanastaso has been appointed as ZNY's new DATM! Anthony has previously served as ZNY DATM many years ago, and I'm really glad that he is joining the team again.
