Please join the Pacific Control Facility for our 4th annual Ending The Year In Paradise. As the weather starts to get chilly in much of the United States, Hawaii remains a tropical paradise. This makes it the perfect place for a holiday getaway! Our controllers will be staffing 5 airports throughout Hawaii, providing ample opportunity for pilots to see a new island! We encourage pilots to fly across the islands or from the mainland to some of our smaller fields. This is the best way to avoid metering procedures in effect at PHNL and PHOG!

Pilot Briefing is now available!!

As fall begins to turn to winter in most of the United States, it's still in the mid 80's in Hawaii. Come join us for a Beach Day to enjoy this beautiful weather and escape the beginning of winter for many of us! We will be staffing PHNL, PHOG, and PHTO for you to ferry your passengers to the beach.

Pacific Control Facility and Virtual Edmonton FIR Present Anchor The Horse Crossfire

Channel your inner Buffalo Joe to ferry cargo and passengers around northern Canada, or explore Anchorage before the sun sets at 11 pm local time. Fly VFR around Whitehorse to explore the beautiful sights, or commemorate the 25th running of the Yukon Quest Dog Sled Race. Fly low and slow around Anchorage for breathtaking views of the glaciers and mountains to the southeast. We look forward to welcoming all IFR and VFR traffic to the area on May 23rd. See you in the skies!

General Discussion / Re: Installing ARTCC Files
« on: April 13, 2021, 03:24:31 PM »
If you're using VRC, it shouldn't matter where you put the files as long as you tell VRC where they are. For example, most people will tell you to put them in the VRC/Documents folder, but I'm too lazy to move them so I just leave them in my Downloads folder and tell VRC that's where they are. In the screenshot I attached you can see what mine looks like. All you really have to do is unzip whatever package the files are in so that you can select each individual file. I know VRC can be a pain at the start, so let me know if that doesn't make sense or you have any other questions!

It sounds like your saying everyone has to fly either STL-MCI or STL-MCI. This sounds like a disaster in the making.
The last statement says in bold "*In the interest of avoiding lengthy ground delays, ZKC asks that participants limit flights between STL and MCI airports. The purpose of this event is for the airport pair to compete against one another for traffic volume."
It appears they just want to see which airport will receive more traffic.

...Depart Asia in the morning, and reach the West Coast of the United States by the evening...

Jut double-checking on the event description... Using Time and Date . com (https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html?iso=20210320T190000&p1=1440&p2=248&p3=224&p4=286), 0900Z would be 6:00 p.m. local in Tokyo, rather than morning. Estimating a 10-hour flight, that would put us in San Francisco at 12 noon, rather than evening.

That's correct. It would be a morning departure by U.S. time, with the first departure going out around 0900 zulu. A 10 hour flight would put them in SFO at 1900Z, or 1400 Eastern. The last arrival will arrive before 2300Z, or 1800 Eastern. Sorry, the times can get a bit confusing with so many different time zones to consider.
