Set the parking brake on the airliner and knock the cobwebs off your favorite general aviation aircraft! The General Aviation Fly-In visits locales across the ZBW airspace that are famous for their scenery and general aviation influence. While anything from a single engine Cessna to a small corporate jet is welcome in this event, ‘low and slow’ offers the best opportunity to experience the scenery.

In the Regional Circuit, controllers fully staff two regional airports, providing complete 'gate-to-gate' coverage over this special four-hour event. The focus airports are typically 80-200nm apart, and a high volume of pilots operating in this compressed airspace means the Regional Circuit provides optimal conditions for congested frequencies and busy airways.

Occasionally, BVA will host these events in other facilities. This event is being hosted by the Minneapolis ARTCC (KZMP). They will be providing Air Traffic Control services for this event, allowing our controllers to participate and a change of scenery for an exciting night abroad.

For more information and event downloads, visit the Regional Circuit page.

The Pack The Pattern event seeks to replicate the busy atmosphere of a commercial airport. During this event, ATC fully staffs the focus airfield, and pilots are encouraged to fly VFR or IFR circuits or arrive at the airport during the event.

« on: June 04, 2017, 07:01:46 PM »

Join the controllers and frequent pilots of the Boston Virtual ARTCC for an evening in Connecticut. The focus is on the Y90 Bradley TRACON area, including KORH, KHFD, KCEF, and, of course, KBDL. We'll be staffing up the facility from 1900-2300 ET [2300-0300Z]. All types of traffic are welcome across the area and the entire ARTCC, be it your local flying club doing some VFR, your VA operating scheduled flights, or just a fun little jaunt in your Cessna from point A to point B, we'll be turning up the heat for our controllers and shooting for a busy Sunday night. We hope to see you there!
