Join ZKC for our last FNO of the year at St. Louis (KSTL).  A pilot briefing will be available closer to the event date.

Here are a few reminders to consider prior to flying this event:

Scenery is available for St. Louis and is highly recommended.

Any Issue with VFR Traffic? Pattern or practice maneuvers in the Bravo?

Due to the amount of traffic expected for FNO, VFR traffic can expect heavy delays, and pattern work is not recommended at STL. As a controller yourself you should know the answer to this question already..

Highly unlikely due to the traffic load in the event. Maybe if you get there early around the start time you can, but definitely not past an hour in.

I can't speak for ZKC, but I can speak generally:

If it's permitted on network (which it is), it'll be permitted during events.  We don't get to redefine VATSIM for an event.  Be courteous, though.  Transiting or departing/arriving?  Have at it.  Pattern work?  Would you really want to do that there, anyways?  Wanting to maneuver inside?  They'll get busy, and you may be operationally restricted to the point where it won't be fun to be there for you or them.

It may just be easier and friendly to sit just underneath the shelf.  You can watch the lines of airplanes from there without any of the complications.  If you do this, just remember to actually remain clear of airspace or you may find yourself on the wrong side of a wallop.

Of course I know the answer - Perhaps there are pilots who are not controllers who do not realize there are significant delays and I wanted to ask the question so they didn't feel stupid. No need to use harsh language to make a point. The coordination of dealing with VFR Traffic does not take priority over IFR but if the facility can handle it, it will attempt to provide that to VFR Pilots. Pattern work is understandably hard to accomodate as sequencing would be a nightmare.

To all pilots who didn't know this now you do :)
