Virtual Airlines / Merlion International Airlines (MIA)
« on: December 21, 2013, 10:17:05 PM »
Merlion International Airlines (MIA) is coming to VATSIM!!!  For the past 3 years MIA has been conducting its operations with over 200 active pilots primarily on the FlightGear (FG) servers and opensource FG simulation products.  Today, MIA is taking another step forward, and that is entering into the VATSIM market.  MIA is looking to hire additional Hub Managers, Website Developers, Flight Instructors, Public Relations officers and of course Pilots.  Merlion is in the process of integrating the Microsoft Flight Simulation and X-plane product users into its system and looks forward towards contributing its services towards the Vatsim flight simulator communities.

Merlion International Airlines (MIA) is an organization consisting of Flight Simulation enthusiasts working together to simulate real airline operations within the limitations of flight simulation. MIA is based in Singapore at Changi International Airport, and serves as the main company flagship.  The main company's operations are divided into three subsidiary airlines.  The virtual airline company is broken down into two main branches; Merlion International Airlines (MIA - passenger transport services) and Merlion Cargo (MCA - cargo transport services).  MIA itself is comprised of three subsidiary airlines.  The three subsidiary airlines are as follows; Cloud9 (Los Angeles), Merlion Blue (Gatwick), and Australis (Melbourne).

Merlion International Airlines has been a proud member of Virtual Star Alliance (VSA) for over the past 3 years.  MIA offers a wide range of services to its pilots.  These include the following:

Flight Training (Private to Commercial provided by VSA) (Type ratings provided by MIA)
Extensive route coverage with flight schedule and bookings (North America, Europe, Asia, Australia)
Latest and efficient aircraft equipment
Charter services

Virtual Airlines / Virtual Star Alliance (Seeking Web Designers, etc)
« on: July 01, 2013, 01:12:28 AM »
Hello and Welcome,

Virtual Star Alliance is a virtual alliance that is able to sponsor virtual airlines representing real-life Star Alliance airline members and any fictitious virtual airlines that are willing to join and experience first-hand the benefits of an alliance.  Virtual Star Alliance (VSA) has been in operation since April 2009, primarily on the FlightGear mulitplayer network server.  As of now, VSA has the means, resources, and desire necessary to expand onto the VATSIM frontier.

VSA is currently searching for IT programmers such as web design, graphics, etc to join the VSA IT team.  A list of the requirements will be listed below. In general if you are new to this then don't worry, so long as effort, dedication, team play, and/or a willingness to learn is being done.  This will be a great way to expand on experience and practice on skills.

Applications for additional virtual airlines representing real-life Star Alliance airlines and fictitious virtual airlines to join the alliance will be released at a further date.

Anyone willing to join the IT team please submit an email of interest at: [email protected]

OPEN POSITIONS
IT Team Member: Must have adequate knowledge in either HTML, PHP, CSS, Photoshop, and/or in other similar fields.  This project will involve working with data sharing for codeshares, MVC, and will require working along with or mentoring with other IT team members across the global, especially during periodic web conferences (which can be via Facebook, Skype, or any other median that you prefer).

In addition, members of the IT Team in post VSA website development can volunteer to help monitor, maintain, and mentor on other VSA virtual airline member websites.  This is another added benefit from the alliance, especially for any virtual airlines in the startup process.

SIDENOTE:  Domain and Host server has already been setup and everything is ready to go for programming.  No wait time!
