I've been going through the training materials getting ready for my Basic ATC exam and in some of my searches  I saw previous posts (several years old) stating that the VATUSA exams were open book. Since that info is old and I know changes have been made to the training procedures, can someone confirm whether or not I can still utilize the notes I've taken during the training? I received the exam email after it was assigned, but there's no information included there stating it is open book and I'd like to follow the rules.

I'm enjoying the learning, but right now I'm drinking from a firehose and without the notes I'm not sure how long it would take to retain enough info to pass the first exam. I'm hoping that once I can start training with someone, pieces that haven't connected yet will start falling into place.
