General Discussion / Thank You and Farewell!
« on: February 20, 2012, 11:39:28 AM »
Just wanted to take a moment to thank all of the controllers and pilots who helped make Newark Live possible. It was a pleasure to work with and control all of you. The first round of photos can be found at https://picasaweb.google.com/11642804075137...CN6Ptu71kfibOg#.

The list of prize winners will be posted soon!

As with all great things, my staff tenure at New York ARTCC must come to an end. I am truly humbled to have worked with and instructed such a great group of people, and I am so proud of the achievements that you have accomplished both on the network and in your personal lives. I am grateful that you let me share my knowledge with you and that you let me learn something from each of you. To all those who I have worked with on events - especially those at ZBW and ZDC - your efforts and contributions have been outstanding. I have truly enjoyed my time in this role and have been well supported with the work and outcomes we achieved. I genuinely hope you enjoyed the events we put together. They provide me with a sense of pride and gratitude that is indescribable.

See you on the scopes.

New York ARTCC is pleased to offer it's second annual National Traffic Management Training Course (NTMTC). Back my popular demand, this challenging 8 week seminar-style course involves lectures and open  discussions of current traffic management procedures and philosophy, as  well as an exploration of the roles and relationships of the various  stakeholders influencing the daily operation of the National Airspace  System.

Participants will receive weekly informative briefings on a variety of  subject matters, review operational scenarios, and discuss best  operating practices. The instructional method is a carefully balanced  combination of lecture, PowerPoint, and multimedia presentations along  with open discussion.

This program serves to provide training for controllers selected for Traffic Management Coordinator  positions as well as Events Coordinators and other personnel required to perform traffic management duties. This training program includes classroom  instruction, local facility orientation, and site specific training  designed to prepare Traffic Management Specialists-in-Training (TMSIT)  for the operational environment.

Controllers who currently hold a Controller (C1)  rating as well as other  management personnel who need to have a general knowledge of the traffic management system are eligible for course enrollment.

Personnel who wish to complete this course must submit a written  request and letter of approval from their facility Air Traffic Manager to the ZNY Traffic Management Coordinator.

The class will begin October 8, 2011.

For more information and class registration, please contact tmc[at]nyartcc.org.
