Back in 2012, a flight watch experiment was conducted. I am wondering if we could implement this or what the outcome was?

It went down in a huge fireball never to be discussed again.

Amen to that!

...never to be discussed again.
A million times this.

A million times this.
If you don't mind me asking... What was so bad about? They seem to be able to do it over in Europe without issues.

You do not want to open this discussion up again. Let it unrest in peace.
This should tell you all you need to know.

The better question is what went right with it. The answer is nothing.

Sure, some top reasons (personal opinion):
-It detracts from the realism for me (as a controller and pilot), and would likely detract from my own interest/participation
-It is a level of consolidation I do not want to see in the division (or network)
-It would be an unnecessary logistical challenge for marginal (if any) gain; again opinion. I would rather see how the VATUSA Academy plays out again in terms of activity and participation, assuming that is the basis of your question. Is morphing airspace truly necessary?
-Adding to logistics, it would require an unprecedented change to air traffic procedures and policies that would have to be written very smartly.
-There's plenty of airspace that gets busy enough, especially during high-visibility events. The last thing I want is to add thousands of miles more of responsibility. My brain isn't getting any younger and I certainly don't want to reduce the quality of service I provide.

Thx Kyle for your response. That makes sense.

Ever see the movie Jumanji? Best not to touch it.
