Job Description:

The Facilities Engineer is responsible for updating and maintaining all ZAN vNAS data.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

 - Leads facilities team to ensure completion of tasks
 - Works with the training team to develop sweatbox training material
 - Keeps up with procedural changes within the FIR and ensures necessary updates are made
 - Maintains and updates all vNAS data
 - Maintains vATIS profiles

Minimum Requirements:

 - Must hold rating of S2 or higher
 - Must have no disciplinary record with VATSIM, VATUSA, or ZAN within the last year.
 - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills as this is a client-facing position.
 - Ability to work well within a team

Desired Qualifications:

 - S3 rating preferred
 - Previous FE or AFE experience
 - Knowledge of Oceanic Procedures
 - Knowledge of ZAN airspace

Key Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Air Traffic Manager and VATUSA3
- Oversees a comprehensive ARTCC Training Department and academy
- Develops and maintains a training policy, simulation files, and training materials
- Manages and mentors a team of Instructors and Mentors
- Supports the Anchorage ARTCC's mission of creating quality controllers, while creating and maintaining open, friendly, and accepting community
- Lead and effectively manage a team of mentors and instructors, including facilitating a structure for applications and onboarding new training staff members
- Serves as a leader to coach and motivate controllers while upholding a culture that builds exceptional internal and external pilot experiences
- Perform multiple functions, including project management, instructional design, and instructional writing
- Assess learning needs accurately and propose creative and effective learning solutions
- Initiate and manage throughout the lifecycle of project, including: initiating projects, creating project plans, executing all milestones and tasks, monitoring risk, and evaluating success
- Leverage a diverse set of skills and delivery approaches, including: instructor led, blended, experiential, media based, performance support, and other emerging technologies
- Organization design for Anchorage Training, inclusive of consulting to understand needs, building project roadmaps, and guiding/managing the org design process in partnership with ARTCC Partners to support ZAN goals
- Supports and participates in initiatives that give back to the VATSIM community
- Supports the recruitment, retention and development of a diverse range of talented people to fill the roles of Instructors and Mentors
- Holds self and others accountable to high performance standards while providing pilots with memorable experiences
- Ability to listen to feedback and take constructive action
- Maintains, updates and manages training program, lessons, sweatbox scenarios, exam rubrics
- Attends periodic meetings to report on ARTCC activities
- Ensures that Anchorage is following all VATSIM and VATUSA training directives

Requirements:
- Prior I1 experience
- Oversees the quality of the training program
- Be able to meet all activity requirements as outlined in the ZAN ARTCC Administrative Manual and all sections thereof (as appropriate)
- No history of significant or recent behavioral issues

Preferred Skills:
- Teaching/Education experience (on or off VATSIM)
- Leadership, managerial, or supervisory experience (real world or VATSIM applicable)
- Familiarity with the Anchorage policies and procedures
- Demonstrates the qualities of understanding, patience, restraint, and professionalism

Job Description:

The Events Coordinator is responsible for the planning, scheduling, and execution of events at the ARTCC. The Events Coordinator position requires a considerable amount of work.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Lead the events team to provide support for ZAN Event Operations.
- Identifies and develops events to generate traffic and promote the ARTCC.
- Implements and oversees approved events.
- Work closely with the training department to prepare our members for event positions.
- Coordinates with neighboring FIRs to arrange support for ZAN hosted events and neighboring events.
- Coordinates with VATUSA Command Center for event planning, traffic expectations, event execution, and debrief.
- Develops and distributes marketing materials to promote events and the ARTCC.

Minimum Requirements:

 - Must hold S3 rating, highly qualified S2s may be considered
 - Must have no disciplinary record with VATSIM, VATUSA, or ZAN within the last year.
 - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills as this is a client-facing position.
 - Ability to network with neighboring facilities.

Desired Qualifications:

 - S3 or higher rating preferred
 - Knowledge of the ZAN airspace and typical traffic loads in various event situations
 - Experience/talent in graphic design, typography, etc.
 - Experience with event planning of any type
 - Knowledge of Oceanic Procedures

The Pacific Control Facility is seeking a DATM!

Requirements:
  • Rated C1 or greater.
  • Be in good standing with the network and have no substantial disciplinary history.
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the US ATC system.
  • Strong knowledge of the 7110.65.
  • Excellent communications skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Reports to PCF ATM.
  • Manage the PCF roster.
  • Assist in development of PCF Policies and Procedures.
  • Attend meetings as necessary.
  • Respond to emails in a timely manner.
  • Maintain an active presence on the VATUSA forums as well as the PCF discord.
  • Must meet the PCF activity requirements.

Recommended Skills:
  • Prior experience as a Training Administrator.
  • Prior experience as a VATUSA Instructor or Mentor
  • Prior experience in a leadership position in VATSIM or Real Life.
  • Prior knowledge of PCF procedures.

Pacific Control Facility (PCF) is seeking an Facilities Engineer to update and maintain the current facility files.

The responsibilities are as follows:
  • Manage, create, and update the current facility sector files.
  • Maintain and updates the alias and POF files.
  • Develop policies and procedures for fields in the PCF airspace.
  • Maintain the vATIS configuration file.
  • Coordinate with adjacent facilities as needed.
  • Report to the ATM.
  • Completes other tasks as assigned by the ATM.
  • Attend staff meetings as needed.

The application requirements are as follows:
  • Applicant must be able to meet the PCF activity standards.
  • Applicant must be able to dedicate 3-4 hours of activity to the staff position.
  • Applicant must be knowledgeable regarding vATIS, VRC, vSTARS, vERAM, and Euroscope.
  • Applicant must be an active member and in good standing.
  • Applicant must be able to work in a team environment.

Some preferred skills:
  • Experience as an AFE or an FE.
  • Hold a rating of S2 or greater.

Job Description

•   Answers directly to the Air Traffic Manager (ATM) and Deputy Air Traffic Manager (DATM)
•   Maintains and updates the sector files for all ATC clients approved for use on the VATSIM Network
•   Maintains the Video Maps, POF and Alias files for ATC Clients
•   Maintains the vATIS configuration files
•   Coordinates with adjoining ARTCCs to maintain inter-facility LOAs and Frequency use
•   Maintains a frequent online presence on the VATISM Network
•   Able to receive constructive feedback and make corrective action
•   Notify Senior ARTCC Staff of AIRAC cycle updates affecting the ARTCC operations
•   Support and represent the ARTCC in a professional manner at all times
•   Attend periodic meetings called by the ARTCC Staff

Minimum Requirements

•   Hold a rating of S3 or higher
•   Be in good standing on the VATSIM Network with no significant disciplinary actions in the last 12 months
•   Have extensive knowledge of VRC and vATIS, and at least a basic understanding of vSTARS and vERAM
•   Must be able to create and/or modify sector files for all ATC Clients and all associated support files
•   Committed to the advancement of the Flight Simulation hobby on the VATSIM Network

Desired Skills

•   Able to create training scenario files for use with TWRTrainer and ACSim
•   Have knowledge of obtaining resource materials to produce Sector, POF and Alias files for the various ATC Clients

Any and all works generated for use of the ARTCC while holding this position become the sole property of the ARTCC once accepted by the ARTCC Senior Staff.

  • Must be proficient in modern programming languages (PHP, CSS, HTML, Laravel, etc.).
  • Must be an active member of the network without any major dispensary record.

Preferred Skills
  • Previous administration experience.
  • Previous web development experience.
  • JavaScript knowledge.

ZAN (Anchorage) is currently seeking a Training Administrator who will provide compelling training capability and effective management and leadership of the ZAN ARTCC training program.

Key Responsibilities
•   Report to VATUSA 3/13 as required
•   Report to Air Traffic Manager and Deputy Air Traffic Manager
•   Manage and lead the training program to make it effective and efficient for all ARTCC controllers
•   Maintain an adequate staff of instructors and mentors to meet ARTCC training needs
•   Update and maintain training website material and certification system
•   Assist in the development and implementation of training policies, SOPs, and more
•   Perform duties as a staff Instructor
•   Maintain a high online presence
•   Other duties as assigned by ATM/DATM

Requirements
•   C1 rating or higher
•   Active member on the network in good standing with a clean history
•   Capable of working well in team-oriented environment
•   Strong knowledge of VATSIM/US ATC system
•   Strong knowledge of FAA Order 7110.65

•   Able to work with students in a calm and respectful manner, including some students which may prove to be difficult
