Position Posting – Facility Engineer
Indianapolis ARTCC (vZID)

Duties
-   Reports to the DATM; ATM as necessary.
-   Maintains an active online presence on the ZID Website, Discord, Email, and network.
-   Attends staff meetings as called by the ATM.
-   Creates, maintains, and updates ZID sector files, alias files, POF files, vATIS files, and inter-facility LOAs.
-   Coordinates with ZID and other ARTCC staff to manage frequency and automation problems.
-   Develops and maintains Quick Reference Items.
-   Assists Training Department as assigned.
-   Review and recommend the use of other controller tools for implementation within ZID.
-   All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
-   Must hold a minimum of an S2 rating.
-   Be an active member of the network in good standing.
-   Be a member of ZID, or willing to transfer upon selection.
-   Be skilled with VRC and at least one other radar client.
-   Able to work well in a team environment.
-   Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
-   Must have a high degree of commitment and motivation.

Highly Desired Skills
-   Possesses an S3+ rating.
-   Possess experience and certification within ZID.
-   Have knowledge of GeoJSON.
-   Have previous Facility Engineer experience.
-   Have experience with software development and programming.
-   Have experience with CRC configuration.

What To Expect

Applications will remain open until a suitable candidate is selected.

Hi Kevin,

Welcome to VATUSA. Congratulations on joining the Los Angeles ARTCC. When you connect to the network, are you also connecting to Audio for VATSIM and inputting the correct frequency for the controller? You need to have the frequency in both VRC and AFV, VRC provides the text output and AFV will provide you with audio. Your instructor should be able to help you with specifics tomorrow during your session. Let me know if you need clarification on anything I said here.
