And some get to live another day....

The FAA has released (26 Mar 2013) a three-part phase-in period for closing 149 of the nation’s contract control towers. The shutdowns will start on April 7, when 24 federal contract towers will close, followed by 46 on April 21, and the remaining 79 on May 5 (see the full list below).

Contract Towers Currently Scheduled to Close on 07 Apr 2013 (24)

Dang, and I was really looking forward to the "clear to land" voice from good ole Billy (fictional country boy name) when I come to my home airport (closest airport to my r/w home and work) from my once a month "International" flight to and from Lima, and/or Bogota.

Just kidding... I think it's designated an "International" because of occasional flights to and from the Bahamas.

Absolutely Daniel, if the "Aviation Gods" wanted us to use Euroscope, they would have named it Ameriscope.

General Discussion / American Virtual Airlines' 11th Birthday Bash
« on: June 02, 2012, 05:46:15 PM »
As CEO of American Virtual Airlines, I would like to thank on behalf of my staff and pilots all controllers involved in this event.  This includes the Dallas/Fort Worth, Chicago, Miami, and mostly the Boston crew.  We had a great time, and appreciated the ATC, which was outstanding.

KUDOS to all!

Virtual Airlines / SITE HACKED
« on: May 31, 2012, 09:07:23 PM »
Michael, the hack came from the UK, so there's really not a whole lot we can do about it, except give everyone a heads up that they are out there doing it, just to do it.  They call themselves the F*&^ing TURKS.

Just to let you know, AvA was hacked last night by the TURKS, not too serious, but none the less.  This happened a couple of years ago.  So check your site security.

In that statement, it was originally intended for persons such as, but not limited to persons such as the Event Coordinator, Facilities Manager, etc... those that contributed above and beyond that of normal controller duties, but as others have mentioned, VATUSA decided to not use it any more because of it's abiguity.

I think... I may be wrong, wouldn't be the first time.

It appears that it is limited in South America charts also, any plans on expanding in that direction?

If any of you were wondering about the iFly 737NG, and how it may compare to the PMDG.  Well, I can't honestly compare it to the PMDG... why??   Because PMDG STILL  has not released theirs.  What I can tell you is that the iFly 737NG for FSX is in my opinion, THE BEST addon aircraft to date for FSX.  You get ALL models of the 737, from the 600 to the 900, including the BBJ's.
